Kokaine: Lol. What you should know is this, in those villages, there are people gaining from the BH and there are those that have lost a lot. The latter can't breath because of the former. Also, the government can't arm civilians with military grade weapons for self defense. Are they going to fight BH with those WWII Dane guns? C'mon, what makes you think the locals can achieve what the NA couldn't? 1 Like |

Elsueno: The DSS and other security outfits you mentioned in your comment are compromised. Any intelligence coming from them is relayed back to the BH and they take preemptive actions against the Nigerian state. See, the North-East is too vast and our northern borders are more porous than a basket. You will need millions of soldiers, not thousands, to cover such large swaths of land. The BH boys can retreat into Niger, Chad & Cameron if the heat gets much. They can also disappear into the masses and the army can't tell them apart. The locals are also in on this, some of them are benefiting from the insurgents. The good ones can't do much because their safety is not guaranteed and their neighbors would probably tell on them to the BH, I am sure you know what that spells for them. A soldier shot a fellow soldier simply because the other had killed too many of the BH boys. It made the news here sometime ago(can you beat that?). The man fighting next to you could turn around and empty his magazine on your body. Sir, it is scary out there. |

Elsueno: You are missing the point sir. It is not by numbers nor tactics, it is simply not a conventional war where the two sides are clearly demarcated, coupled with the fact that the NA is apparently compromised (infiltrated I dare to say). The Chadians may have had it easy because the BH hasn't prioritized Chad as the chief enemy. I make bold to further state that even if you move the entire Chadian army over to the Nigerian front, it will make little or no difference. The reason is simply; the BH is fighting the Guerilla style. Think of the situation as "the enemy within" kind of set-up. You can't tell who is BH and who is not, neither can you tell where they are and where they are not. They have "sleepers" all around. It is a frustrating war sir. |

IMAliyu: The U.S military has cut a deal with the Taliban after decades of unending guerilla warfare. Trust me, they did their calculation and saw it wasn't a conventional war wherein the battle lines are clearly drawn. In a guerrilla war, there are no winners nor losers, the war just rages. The NA can't exterminate the BH even in the next 3 decades, bookmark this. |

Germi9: The same point I made in my first comment; that there are lots of things working in favor of the BH and the compromised NA is one of such. I also said that the US army could reduce it to the barest minimum but can't completely exterminate them, as observed in the Middle-East. We are saying the same thing sir. 1 Like |

Germi9: The US military and allied forces haven't been able to quell the unrest in the middle East for over a decade now. They are currently negotiating with the Taliban and other groups. |

apokan200: Brother, the scuffle between them is a pointer to his rebellious nature. He is a ticking time bomb. A deputy governor should know his place in the scheme of things. He is neither an equal nor an equal partner, he is a subordinate. See Buhari and PYO. |
