Fashion / Re: Ladies, Why Do You Wear Waist Beads? by Portable8(f): 1:04am On Apr 02, 2020
3Ceagle:

Beads wearing is part of African culture, which has been eroded by imported cultures from the west. Some cultures in East Africa and Southern Africa has some how kept to a large extent this practice. It is unfortunate that we now ascribe so many unkind meaning to bead wearing by ladies. I have seen the elderly women in the village still wearing beads, it is only in the cities that people seem to have funny opinion about it.
Yes you are very correct

I am presently staying in Osun State and I have seen two teenagers wearing waist beads, one is 13 and the other is 14 years old. I don't want to ask their parents reasons for it, so please help me.

Please ladies, what is the work of it, why do you wear it and at what age is it advisable to wear waist bead?

I've spent 3 decades of my life with waist beads. It has been on my waist since I was a baby. My mom tied it on me when I was a month old and till date i still wear it. All I do is just to change it from time to time (when I add or lose weight or see a beautiful one i love)
It is part of my culture and is believe to make a girl have good shape when grownup.

Nowadays, people use it for different purposes like fashion, culture and others for dubious reasons

less than 100k to make some changes or fix,
30k for registration if d car licence n insurance has expired
35k for tracker

give or take

That sound fair. The most annoying part of this kind of business is that it's rear to see a good and honest driver. Will check it out out. Thanks for all your meaningful contribution

its better in lagos
What makes it better in Lagos with the motorbike and tricycle ban in the major parts of Lagos?

With the advent of the recent Okada and kèké napep ban in the metropolitan parts of Lagos, the best type of business to invest in between ₦2m and ₦10m now is the mini bus also popularly known as the "korope". From my research I heard it used to sell for about ₦850,000 to ₦900k but now that the ban as taken effect and most likely would be in hi demand it can go for as much as a million naira per unit.
The state government have said they are looking at bringing in those mini buses as palliative measures to ameliorate the transport deficits in the inner street of Lagos but we all know as Nigerians that government can be slow and complacent in providing such alternatives. If one gets to buy between 8-10 units of the mini busses for routes such as lasuth underbridge to PWD, GRA Ikeja, ladipo and Shogunle axis the investor is guaranteed to recoup his or her Investments in less than a year... Best case scenario in 6months and worse case scenario a year of recouping investments and profits on such a bus.
A korope mini bus as about the same fuel Consumption rate as that of the kèké napep but as more capacity to take more passengers. With a max of 4 passengers a Keke napep rider delivers about ₦20k to ₦25k weekly to the owner, imagine a scenario where the mini bus seats 7 passengers per trip collecting the same amount and with very few of such buses plying the route at the time, there is a potential of getting ₦30k to ₦40k on a weekly basis worst case scenario.
The little problem one might encounter is the union dues one needs to pay before starting the business and while running the business, as we all know in Lagos all this touts and union associations see this as an avenue for free meals. Aside from that this is gonna be a really good business for anyone who has idle funds to put in this business.
The upside now is there are willing drivers that would take up driving this mini busses in a geefee as they have been left unemployed coz of the kèké ban and most likely would appreciate another chance at making honest money without having to go the illegal route. I would strongly suggest also that one puts it up at hire purchase for the driver driving it so as to make him a stakeholder thereby handling the bus very well and making sure he is meticulous and diligent with the bus and the weekly deliveries to you. Plus I have a car dealer who has good connects for getting the best tokunbo mini buses at quite an affordable price if anyone ever needs this connect.
Your suggestion is much appreciated. I'll look into it and give it a second thought

Transport business. With 1m, you can get five correct keke napepe and lease them. You would double your investment in a year or less if you hire sincere people.
Great idea but won't be possible because of the keke and okada ban

How about any FCMG? Like indomie in cartons, drinks in crate and other daily consumable products. How about house paints, how about a chemist/provision shop? How about a rice, beans, garri, yam, Maggi, tin tomatoes and other food ingredient shop/cold room for fish, turkey.
Whatever idea you later settle down for. I will advise you not to put all the 2M. Use 1M for test running, as the business progresses, you can then decide to increase your capital. Take your time to survey the shop location as well.
I really appreciate you. Going into daily consumable products isn't a bad idea at all, because they will always be in demand. Thanks once again
I'll go on market survey and check it out

What do you really have passion for? Think about that first. Do not contact anybody outside of this thread. They will start dropping numbers for you to contact them. Do not contact them cos there're lots of scammers here. First of all, think about what you have passion for okay.
Thanks. What i have in mind is opening a boutique. On the other hand I took a survey and discover there are lot of people into that. I kinda feel there are other legit businesses aside the regular ones that's profitable
