Or are you saying that the Open Secret-Ballot System is a stupid method of Voting in itself??

If a candidate or any other "influential" person, was to storm a polling unit, and a newscaster ask him/her the question who are you voting for?
I am saying that replying straight to the point with apc, AA, AAC, PDP, etc or with the candidates name should never be a crime.
Of course it can be criminal if he is trying to actively campaign for or coerce others, but freedom of speech should allow him state opening who he is voting for.

Even Trump is still contesting the outcome of the American election till today..

ANY law that can be enacted to make it better is not stupid..

People gets paid and induced to sell their votes..

If it is allowed for them to show who they voted for?

How is that going to help to achieve a free and fair election?

I know that in Nigeria we do not keep stats..
It could have been very easy to just check the rate of vote buying before and after enactment of this law.
So left to my own observations, the offense of vote buying has remain constant or even increased with subsequent electionsand better tech. You can of course counter me on this
So how is that particular section of the law helping matters? ( ie the revealing of vote part)
To me it's all political correctness.
I wish the various stakeholders esp the majority parties could sit together and refine the electioneering process to a gentleman's and ladies club, Instead of the usually thugs tout, box snatching and constant election tribunals we have now.

Yes the law is stupid. Because it's like having a gunshot wound and using plaster to seal it. It is an ineffective, inefficient law that runs after the symptoms but not the problem.
It is a law that is politically correct, and makes it look like the legislature is doing something while in reality we all know this is not the solution.
So I understand the so called reason for the law and I also understand that it is ineffective.

That's a very stupid law if you ask me.
But I understand the reason for the law.
Because of vote buyers, coercion, violence and the likes...

But freedom of speech covers this kind of action but unfortunately we live in a disorganized, and suboptimal society where the concept of free and fair elections, live and let others live, honor and acceping defeat are absent but rather grandiosity, hypocrisy, faux morality and dog eat dog ideologies are the order of the day.
