The thought of Kulikuli came to me just right now and I can't remember the last time I cracked that skull and jaw breaking groundnut stone..
.
In those days, Kulikuli and garri was the mainstay of lunch.. Kuli-kuli, an emblem of Poverty food..
I stopped eating it after I left secondary schl. May God save us from poverty food. Do you still crack Kulikuli, or you are now too big for Kulikuli Like me

Tell us garri and Kulikuli is your best food...Most rich people don't remember Kulikuli exist even though they might have eaten it before

i am sorry sir, do you know most of the wealthy people don't eat it as food like you. they eat it as local snacks.................. so they dont forget it cos they only eat once in a while since they were young...............................


to some of you it is food but to some of us it is snack

Though I still eat the peppered one ( made by Hausa girls) once in a while, I stopped eating it far back in primary school when it was still crunchy. The moment it started becoming soft and sticky I stopped eating it.

About 2/3yrs ago, I was heading home one cool evening like that when I saw wan aboki selling kulikuli.. E jus enter my eye ehn, I was already imagining how I'll stuff my face with it that night while watching a movie.. I approached the aboki and made known of my intentions to buy, E say na 50 50naira, okayy I hope sey e sweet oo, e say yes very very, you sure??, e say walahi you go like am, alright gimme like 200naira own.. I should've asked to taste but my mind don already first me reach house.. Omooo I don finally reach house, freshen up, time to watch movie, I brought out my dear kulikuli for me to use to "wangle" my mouth.. It tasted all so different from the one I had in Secondary School, very bland save for the pepper that burned my throat, I wan die.. I spat it out and kept chipping off the remaining 3 hoping, just hoping that they were not all like the 1st.. who was I kidding? They were all the same, e painn me but na there e end.

Have you tried having it squashed in a bowl of g4 (garri), swimming alongsides milk/milo, iced water, et al especially when the weather is hot?

Lol...I used to...when u come back from school...Kulikuli 10naira and a bowl full of garri...God finally delivered me from the hands of Kulikuli and garri
