I have been reading people's post for a long time here.
I decided to contribute my quota.
Life was hard for me as a dentist in Nigeria. i decided to leave 2016.
I was earning 90k per month as a dentist combining with another locum earning 40% per case treated. I researched all developed countries as per practicing dentistry there.
The obstacle were numerous. Exam fees, low pass rate, tuition for re -enrolling.
I opted for African countries. Ghana was 1st option; exam fee was $700. I dropped the idea. I tried Sierra Leone, Liberia and Gambia.
Gambia was were breakthrough came.
I was offered a job of 1k usd as a full time dentist from Nigeria.
I migrated 2017.
I'm still in Gambia.
if you are a dentist hoping to leave. Try African countries. Migrating as a dentist is hard.

sorry about my write up.
i scribble, i'm no writer.
No wonder Doctors hand writing are difficult to read, how I wish you could write this in your mother s tongue

Poultry and Fish( Catfish, fresh, roasted): Maybe Cameroon. Nearer, more constant light than Gambia, more structured, government regulated private education system( if you have family/ kids), safer than Naija.

Have it in mind that Gambia is a poor country, but they don't need that our Nigeria attitude of I am value than you.

Secondly, you can easily be jail when you offend the law even traffic light.

Third, two bedroom flat cost 40k naira monthly while a room and parlor self-contained cost 35k naira equivalent monthly. Electricity bill is higher than Nigeria. Time's how many rent range the house owner want.

Don't try to show a Gambian that you're wise man from Nigeria, I bet you will never see tomorrow because chapande boys no send you.

DMS value ends in Gambia, Gambia don't use dollar but local currency DMS so don't jump to Gambia to start earning dollar. DMS dollar value is the same with naira so don't hope that exchange can perform miracle.

Development of Gambia can be compared with Oshogbo Osun state, but Osun state is bigger than Gambia so don't start insulting them of not being size of Nigeria, no body beg you to go there.

You must be ready to learn Walof or get criticism as a Nigerian when you Bleep.

Gambia don't joke with tax especially you the fucking foreigners as they normally address Nigerians so don't show your a hard man from corruption head office else you go to jail.

Last for you to enter Gambia someone must sign your undertaken, either a Gambian or resident Nigerian which they have to call on phone to confirm, that's reason immigration come to the address in undertaken document after three months visa on your passport, so don't get stranded at Jobolo or sireten boarder.

When people tell you about a country there's something they don't let you know until you hang in.

Yes they are small country that take everything serious not like our big for nothing nation.

Good luck

Sorry did you mean fvck up?

Sis,
Story long oo.
i no sabi write.

In 2016, I was in UCH doctors lounge with my frustration watching premier league.
Everyone seem to be celebrating their successes in plab and usmle.
A Sierra leone chipped in into their convo. He is never migrating. He is here for training, after training he heads home to help his people.
i linked up with him asap.
He told me they needed dentist in his country. He promised to help me. That was the last i heard of him.
He has already planted a seed of information
I researched all the countries in west africa.
I reached out to Gambian doctors via email.
Some responded.
A lot didn't
One responder asked for my CV.
I sent my CV.
Interview was done via Whatsapp.
I was offered a job
Governments create borders, entrepreneurs erase them.

It still baffles me how any sane Nigerian will leave Nigeria and move to gambia!!!! If u even want to relocate why not move to North America, or Europe People still dont realize that Nigeria is overloaded with great potentials and opportunities more than any other country in Africa. No doubt the govt isnt doing good infact the govt is performing woefully but, thats the irony of it all!! As bad as it is here its a great opportunity for u to become a multimillionaire/Billionaire. Stop being dependent or expecting what d govt can do for u. What can u do for yourself/Nation should be the question on your mind. As for me i cant leave Nigeria and relocate to any gadamn fuckn African Country. Ifbi wan relocate make i kuku go bettee American, European, or Asian Countries. Nigerians open yours eyes, wake up!!!! I will still love to visit a lot of African countries like Gambia, Tanzania, kenya, on holidays but not to relocate

I grew up in The Gambia between 1998 to 2007
My family relocated back to Nigeria
But now I’m a young man
Thinking about going back to The Gambia

My question is how do I relocate ?
I have my PASSPORT ready
I don’t want to ask my dad lol
I bet he never told his dad when he took the step to migrate there in the first place.

Growing up there was fun lol
Lovely childhood memories
We were always at the beaches every month end.

GAMBIA PEACEFUL COUNTRY

QUOTE ME IF YOU HAVE AN ANSWER TO MY QUESTION.
It’s time to chill out lol.
Thanks for the audience

You should be able to eat with it. First few days, it will feel awkward but you will get used to it. If there's no pain when chewing. You should be able to eat with your denture

I think there’s so much credence and inspiration on your story but for the sake of honest Nairalanders that would start considering moving to other African countries and for goodness sake, How true is it that you say your Cert is worth more than the Cert of a medical Doctor?

Demand and supply. There are over 200 medical doctors in Gambia. There is less than 20 dentist in Gambia.

Point of correction: There is direct flight to Gambia. Aasky and Airpeace. But airpeace is down now. Gambia is a lovely country to be. No hassles and system failures like Nigeria. I spent close to 20 years in GM. Extremely nice people. Good luck to you OP. Meanwhile pls avoid the beautiful Wollof, Mandinka and Fula girls to avoid the stories that touch!

There is now. Not then. Thanks
