Former Super Eagles midfielder, Sunday Oliseh, has hailed Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfried Ndidi, for putting Nigeria’s name on the football map.

Iheanacho scored twice as Leicester City beat Manchester United 3-1 in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.

The Nigerian forward, who was making his 15th start of the campaing, also set up another goal for Youri Tielemans.

“Bravo 4 tonight, @Kelechi72 & @Ndidi25 are maybe on the way to bringing Nigeria back to Top club football, Makes me proud,” Oliseh tweeted.

Iheanacho is now one of only two players, along with Sergio Aguero, to score 20 or more goals in England’s cup competitions over the last six years.

He has bagged 12 goals in total and provided five assists in 28 appearances across all competitions this season, amid other dazzling displays.

It is like we are having back the UAE 2013 U17 Kelechi Iheanacho.

Though Kelechi has shown to be very good in cup competition even while at Manchester City.
No player has scored more FA cup goals than Kelechi since he made his debut in the competition

Kelechi Iheanacho is now Africa’s top scorer in the Emirates FA Cup following his brace in Leicester City’s 3-1 win against Manchester United at the King Power Stadium on Sunday night, reports Completesports.com.

The Nigeria international has now netted 13 times in 18 appearances, one more than former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, who scored 12 goals in 29 games for the Blues.

The 24-year-old is also the highest scoring Nigerian in the competition, with former Everton and Portsmouth forward Yakubu Aiyegbeni is second position with nine goals.

The former Manchester City star has now scored seven goals in his last four appearances for the Foxes.

Brendan Rodgers’ side will take on Southampton in the semi-final of the FA Cup.

The only issue is consistency especially once the hype starts all over...

It would be nice to have a Nigerian doing such great feats week in, week out! We have been out of the elite ranking for far too long.
