I don't see what you miss in Iwobi. However, I think our midfield woulda been worse if the makeshift Iwobi was there. We know Iwobi is good at 1-2 and scores but we need a natural midfielder and Iwobi is not one.
In the absence of a natural 10, what happens? Look at how deserted our midfield was most of the time, coupled with the number of sideway passes from the midfielders.

Play to your strikers' strength, otherwise blame yourself when they fall short. Icon4s, I hope you saw what Paul did today, that he had the crosses he always craved for? Told you guys Rohr was the problem, not Paul, but you all kept bashing him.
My friend, the national team does not play so many matches that a striker will only be waiting for crosses before he delivers.
As a striker, there are games you need to boss your way through the defense to make the deference in a game.

A good one from Paul anyways. He has just ensured his name stays within the national team.

But many here believe we were gonna demolish Benin republic like say na newbie we dey follow play.
If we had iwobi today we could have easily scored 4 goals or more ....lack of defense splitting pass almost cost the match.

Please, stop this. Since Iwobi started playing attacking midfield for us how improved is our midfield ?

I no get strength to argue, but you should know that no reasonable coach selects same kinda strikers, otherwise he will find it hard to vary or tweak his tactics at the heat of an encounter. That was what played out today.

warriors performance from Osimhen. wasn't 100% plus everything didn't drop for but his never say die spirit contributed to the winning goal. happy onuachu finally ended his long run of no goals.

KC was sharp, honorable mentions to balogun, ndidi, sanusi and chukwueze.

Very low-key performance but nice show of character from the boys to earn a deserved win.

Why na, Benin did not pose any threat whatsoever.
Just one header at goal, no single shot at goal.
Boys were in control throughout!
Mind you we struck the post and their keeper made some spectacular saves.
They could have played for a draw but they kept pushing for the winning goal.
The SE should be commended.
I don't remember Benin creating any meaningful chance in our box. None!

You said sideways passes but Iwobi could never take on a player one-on-one, he would still play sideways. Iwobi is not good at crossing neither could he shoot...have you forgotten so soon ?

Nice goal from Paul. He deserved that. I hope it gives him the confidence to play better. I wasn't impressed with his overall play though.

See as the guy wan use him celebration kill our Skippo.

Iwobi was missed. grin grin
You guys look at Onuachu's "lacklustre" movements and make conclusions on him. But I was specifically checking his ball controls, he handles the ball well and hardly loses it.

Nah I wasn't scare about the fact they're gonna beat us but rather about the fact we wonna score goals.
It a good performance from us.
