They did not expect southerners to fight back
they were expecting the southerners to turn the other cheek

I think you'll be doing yourself a very good favour by searching online for the interview granted to Dr Obadiah Mailafia.

There are already armed militias in the rainforest of the South.

Most of them were relocated there during the Covid lockdown last year.

According to Mailafia, he had spoken with some bandits who repented and they told him categorically that the plan was to cause a civil war just close to the election year so that elections won't hold and the current president, who is their man will continue in power.

The man has been right on all counts so far.
