It has been more than a month since academic activities kicked off in the federal university of agriculture Makurdi. I went to the boys hostel yesterday to collect study materials from a friend and what I saw very much unpleasant to all my senses.

Now the question is who is to be blamed for the state of the environment because the students themselves are blaming the school's authority but personally I feel the students are to be blamed too

What is your own opinion

The occupants should clean their own filt!

The students are dirty too. These kind of things can be coordinated even at their own level instead of living in obscene filth.
That's why some schools are just outside my list of schools and hardly take pro ducts from such glorified secondary schools serious.
This is enough to go on aluta if they are clean students irritated by filth.

The students are to blame!

they used the facilities to such a disgusting end. And no one should say, perhaps there is no water, coz how come their are clothes laundered there '?' and there is actually water facility provided.

Giving one hour or two, the students can fix the trash and clean their surroundings!

Independence Hall, U.I comes to mind, the students even clean their water tanks. The students should take responsibility.

I stayed in this very hostel (block D, popularly known as Zamf) for 5 years. Apart from the dirt, it's a fun place to be.

All I see is dirty students.....

everything no be government, so you guys can't use a waste bin there? and if possible have a separate for recyclables? and you are higher institution students?

I studied agricultural and environmental engineering and graduated 2019. For the 5years that I spent in the school, I never even for once stayed in the hostel for up to 30mins. it's so unkept. All my years there I moved from town to the school spending daily #450. I can't go and kill myself because of school

zamf hostel, I still can't believe that I actually spent five years in that hostel. if you survive zamf hostel then the World becomes a playground to you. I still hail my alma mater.

So make govt come help you clean your own dirt

I will first blame the students, the hostel management and the school as a whole.

Nigerians lack maintenance culture and I think it's time to introduce such a course in our various school curriculum.

Furthermore most nigeria students are so dirty that all they know is wash and iron their clothes putting on expensive perfumes speaking gibberish in form of english.. neatness encompasses a lot of thing including your surroundings should be taken into consideration.

The students are pigs.

Are they waiting for government to come clean their surroundings and watch their toilets for them. Something you use everyday but can't maintain it.

This is a pure example of why Nigeria will never get develop

Anything public would never be treasured by its users. Just make it private, you would see the huge difference.

My children can't live inside such environment.

Because me I didn't see that kind of thing too.

What of the organization responsible for hiring cleaners? Aren't they functional in d school?

If the dumb able bodied men can be patriotic enough to clean their own mess, let them keep waiting for the government
