That is the misconception.

The SC never accused Degi of forgery but on his chameleonic attitude in changing of names.

There are laws that govern the way we change names. I think it was just strictly followed.

He knows nah grin
U remember that what was brought before the court from the court of first instance was forgery. If the Supreme Court wasn't convinced about the allegation of forgery brought before it, why use other method to sack him? Clearly the case was that of forgery. The court should be careful how they interfer with the people's mandate. Imo and bayelsa should never repeat itself again for the sake of democracy. It's so devastating after queuing up to vote and the person gets an overwhelming victory but a group of seven people outside the state will use technicalities to hand power to a man rejected at the poll by the people.

What was brought before the Court of first instance was false information, not FORGERY.

Justice Ekwo disqualified Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, the party’s deputy governorship candidate, over “false information” submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the November 16 election.

WHAT IS FALSE INFORMATION

False information means any written or verbal statement or representation of fact that is not true and that was made intentionally, knowingly or without having taken reasonable steps to ascertain whether or not the information was true.

Lol...... What's the false information in this case? Abegiiii........ I blame apc for not taking that case serious. They went to sleep and allowed justice Peter odili (Mrs) to pull the rug off their feet. We have seen worse cases of false information and nothing happened. I don't need to mention instances. Many governors have escaped similar judgements from worse scenarios of obvious and intentional falsifications.

It takes one judgement to right a wrong. Odili was apt on that judgement.

At the High Court in Igbosere, if you want 30 names one for every day in a month...You will get it. grin (Unless they have repented)

The false information is in the chameleonic way with which he absorbs names.

That is the same scenario Ibezim is facing...all came from the same judge at the Court of first instance.

Who's supposed to have the final say in a democracy? The court or the people.? Denying the people a taste of their popular mandate is too harsh a judgement for an offence of descripancies in name of a certificate bearer not that they were forged. How could it have been intentional when he didn't even know he would contest for such position years back? My point is that we should reduce the reason why leaders who enjoy the popular mandate of their people can just be sacked with ease, especially when the opponent is not challenging the process. You'll remember that even the pdp didn't challenge that election. It was free, fair, credible and the people spoke so loud with the way they voted.

I disagree totally.

Our Politicians cause the problems for the Court. The Court has warned many times for politicians to come clean. The politicians are the problems.

Indispensable85, if you are to interview for a job as GMD, NNPC...will you go there submitting a haphazard CV?

Infact, you will be looking at the CV every second.

There are laws in reconciling names. Why not follow it?

My name is A....if you change your name to B..why not reconcile them?

You notarised them, why not name the notary public?

That someone stole from your shop at gunpoint, then when running out of the shop helped you lock the door to prevent looters from coming in, does not exonerate him.

That a politician didn't follow the law and is heavily voted in does not justify the lawlessness. He should be ruthlessly punished.

There are banks in this Country that will not even accept a sworn declaration of age.

The Court should continue to punish them.

The Only Change I want in that electoral act is for pre-election cases to be settled before the election.

However, The PDP challenged that election even in the tribunal. They only withdrew their case immediately the Supreme Court affirmed Diri.

I agree with you totally on the need to conclude preelection cases before election even though that's not gonna happen in this generation. You talked about coming clean...... Are the courts clean themselves? Haven't you seen how they've become tools in the hands of the political class? Lol..........
