Igbo tradition is not like, once bride price is paid the child is automatically the man's even if they divorce, some town in Igbo land don't accept children born out of wedlock, the child must go back to the father no matter how long it takes, example is Onitsha town, they don't accept children in their families, the lady must take the child back to the person that impregnated her.
