the variance is too wide all expert has cautioned against it ......BDC people are having a field day with unjustifiable incomes ....20000 usd allocated to 5000 BDC everweek @410 ...they refuse to sell at an agreed margin @ 420 they sell at market determine rates of 490 ....so the get regulated usd from cbn and sell unregulated at 490 ...margin of 80 x 20000 usd weekly =1.6 ×4=7.2m monthly with a capital of 8.2m naira .....this unproductive ways of becoming rich in Nigeria .....a single person can own 5 bdc

Why judge

This line of reasoning comes from the assumption that There is a blue print for the ideal life

Lots of assumptions are rife in the analysis

Entrepreneurship vs Job (8 years study of 2 Tenants in Nigeria)

Tenant (A) entrepreneur Married with 4 kids.

Tenant (B) Banker married with 2 kids.

Rent 350k per annum.

Tenant A started out as a cold room manufacturer and retailer and wife whole seller of food stuff (young couples).

Tenant B Banker and wife was a full-time house wife.

Tenant B bought EOD 7 years ago while Tenant A was not having Car.

5 years later, tenant A bought a small car while Tenant B bought another car for the wife.

Tenant A and B wives are graduates from Nigerian University.

Tenant A moved from cold room to recycling business and leather production while Tenant B moved to SBO in the Bank.

2 years ago, tenant A and B started rivalry because of parking space for their wives, suddenly Tenant A order a Toyota matrix for his wife too., the fight between both women escalated tenant B moved out to a new house at 500k per annum leaving tenant A.

After some few months tenant A called me to house warming party to their well tastefully finished 5 bedroom duplex.

At the beginning of their tenancy I was afraid that tenant A will be defaulting in payments but he never defaulted.

Tenant A now owns a recycling, leather (polythene) bags making business with 13 staffs. Millions of polythene bags are used daily in Nigeria.

This should serve as advice for Nigerian university graduates. DO NOT allow PAPER qualification becloud you and put unnecessary pride in your head, if the office job come fine. if not try your hand and head somewhere else.

This a 10 years observation.

This! There is no blue print to the ideal life. Some entrepreneurs will be more successful than employees while some employees will be more successful than entrepreneurs. We just pray to find luck and favour wherever we find ourselves.

For every 10 year observation of an entrepreneur doing better than an employee, there are more observations of employees doing better than entrepreneurs.

If we use observations of real landlords (not audio landlords), then employees are doing better. Most problematic tenants are entrepreneurs!

It has to do with mindset and values.

I repeat, enterpreneurship is not for everyone. For every successful enterpreneur, hundreds have failed. For every Microsoft, Apple and Amazon , hundreds of dot com failed and are history.

But we can all learn to have the right values and mindset, live within or below your means, invest, manage risk, have an eye for identifying good investment opportunities, make friends with forward looking and thinking people, read books that will broaden your horizon and outlook about life, dare to be different, use your head when it comes to religious matter ( because that is a major scam in poor countries).

God will definitely bless your hustle, whether you are an employee or an enterpreneur

A lady that joined Zenith Bank when the company was established currently earns dividends of almost N200 million every year from the company, excluding her salary and returns from her other Investments.

She is an employee
