DubaiLandLord:
Gunmen suspected to be bandits have reportedly invaded the camp of the Joint Security Task Force comprising of the Army, Police, Civil Defence and Vigilantes at Allawa and opened fire on them, killing an undisclosed number of soldiers in the process in Niger State.

An officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) was also killed in the attack while many security personnel sustained injuries.

They also abducted over 10 persons, stole seven motorcycles and burnt down military vehicles in attacks that happened on Wednesday and in the early hours of Thursday.

The communities attacked by the bandits are Allawa, Manta, Gurmana, Bassa and Kokki in Shiroro council.

Eyewitnesses said the bandits attacked Manta, Gurmana and Bassa villages on Wednesday, where they killed one Alhaji Sale in Madalla community and kidnapped four people.

Reacting to the incident, President, Shiroro Youth Movement, Mohammed Sani Idris, said the bandits, in 100s, were armed with AK47 and attacked the communities for about five hours unchallenged.

“During the invasion, they killed one Alhaji Sale in Madalla community under Bassa ward and kidnapped four people and went away with two motorcycles”

“Also in Kokki Boddo a community under Gurmana ward, they abducted six persons and took away five motorcycles, five people were also kidnapped in Manta ward,” Idris said.

There have been rumors of this here in the Northeast. Also rumors of Soldiers almost finishing of or closing up on terrorists only to be called by Superiors to withdraw.

But I try not to believe such rumors.

Its BS, those NCOs come up with craps most times, Boko doesn't need to pay a General or commander to Ambush troops, Ambush is integral in their assymetric strategy, we saw it in Iraq, Afghan etc, unless Alqaeda paid NATO commanders too.

What I think they suffer mostly is intelligence failure, as for asking them to pull out while on a near clearance mission, its normal world over, sometimes fresh intel show up in an ongoing mission which will pose a higher risk to the mission, what do you expect the commander to do?
Sometimes it could be as serious as heavy enemy reinforcement coming their way then an NCO says, oga said we should pull out when we could've finished the mission, what if you don't make it out alive after finishing them off?

They had to demote him for miraculously escaping the trap sef....sabotage abound within the armed forces fighting the boko war and that's a fact..!!

Stories you said, most of which are BS, Gen. Adeniyi was responsible for his own intel as theater commander, if it failed, he doesn't need to embarass himself with any video.
Intelligence failure is normal in 3rd world militaries, absolutely normal.

very correct sir, the problem is most Nigerians don't know the difference between a conventional war and an asymetric/gorilla warfare and due to hardened hearts thy are unwilling to learn, the USA has the greatest military in all of human history still yet they are about to sign a peace deal with the Taliban after close to 20yrs of warfare, I like it when you asked if NATO, USA commanders were bribed too.

bokoharam can be you or me, they are wives, husbands, sons and daughters amongst us, so tell me how do you fight people amongst you in a conventional manner using bombs, tanks, artillery without destroying yourself In the process,

A little bit of history in the 80s when Chad attacked Nigeria and tried to take some of our islands in lake Chad, under a week the Nigerian army led by General Buhari as operations commander pummeled them to submission we would have taken there capital if we wanted too, NIGERIA as a nation has never lost a war, from world war 2 to, the civil war, Liberia, Somalia, ECOMOG, even recently in Gambia when we intervened.

Am proud of our military, they ain't perfect more can be done I know but still yet they are among the best not just in Africa but the world.
WE SHALL WIN the war against BOKOHARAM it's 12 yrs too long

The situation of brasses setting up their soldiers tto be killed is different from the scenario u cited
The brass could withdraw troops for several reasons , not assisting BH deliberately. Some of such reasons are ..
The offensive team is going out of reinforcement or operational range..
Lack of airsupport to consolidate pursuance.
And general fear of sending troops into an area that has not been fully understood

Una wan change story of Gen. Adeniyi demotion.
The general was demoted because of media coverage... And not some conspiracy theory of the army trying to kill him and his men... That theory doesn't even make sense .. in war, Intel that was correct few minutes ago, could be wrong in the next five minute... Likewse, a bad Intel could become correct within few minutes .

depends on how it work back in naija. remember it was a call in, normally any journalist or media house worth something would verify the intel or info given to them before publishing it, but if some random person calls in while their programming was live, that's different. in which case they should have made clear on the spot that the man's info was unverified and they will look into it by contacting sources and military leadership and then give their listeners updated info

Do you even know what that expression means? blood boiling over what?
so someone gave his rank and a phone number, all of a sudden he's credible? lord have mercy. now I'm not saying he's lying or isnt. but his identity is unverified.
why would i work myself up over this? left that country almost 20yrs already, all I'm saying is, don't believe everything you hear.
that's common sense. anyone could have mentioned a rank, the fvk does that proof.
make i dey search for a program? lol. someone dey pay me? please.
All I'm saying is, people gotta stop throwing unverified bs around.

Oasis001:

Una blood go just dey hot anyhow. Yes he mentioned his Rank, mentioned his Beat in Maiduguri and some other Locations, which makes his Story kinda complicated to rule off.

He called a Radio Station Live, even sent his Number to Presenter for more Revelations. Instead of doubting like Thomas, you can try to search for the Programme yourself on Lagelu FM 96.7 I guess (11am to 12pm) on Wednesday.

as for the populace, ost are clueless on military operations...
While for the NCOs, it depends... There are times those on the field are in better position to judge combat situation, and at times those sitting behind computers are better informed about the changing battle environment and are therefore in better position to advise ground troops...
At any rate, any sane NCOs, would not suspect the army are working with the terrorist.
When soldiers start mistrusting the chain of command, it usually a sign of battle weariness and should be withdrawn for resting and mental evaluation

You really don't know how the military work....the air force, won't leave the rescue of their pilot in the hands of AFSF, when they have well trained specialists for just this eventuality.any afsf, sent would just probably be playing defense for the main team doing the work, and the air force still has a team trained for this, and would reduce the logistical burden needed to rescue the pilot.
If the pilots fly with their phones, I would expect them been tracked with that, though network might be bad...... if they have a map, i would say they are in the outskirts of settlements in that area, and I hope they have water before food,
