I just bought a fairly used gs350
The problem am facing right now is that the steering get stiff sometimes
Pls how do I resolve this

The power steering rack is bad or there's linkage in the hose.

First thing to do, before driving the car in the morning check under it if you'll find any oil drop on the flow, if you find any, then you'll need to change the hose

Secondly, if you notice noise when trying to turn right or left while driving then that's the power steering rack.

I hope this helps.

GS350 uses an electric steering system. Get your car scanned and diagnosed.

If your vehicle got a power steering fluid reservoir, it's very possible that wrong fluids might have been poured in............

Electronic steering. I think your steering rack is shot. Take it to a reputable shop to look at it. It might be a bit pricey to replace.

On a second thought, have you checked your battery and alternator? Is your alternator supplying at least 13v with all appliances turned on? How old or new is your battery?
Battery issues tend to affect the power steering of cars with electric power steering. Check this out first before attempting to work on the steering rack.

On another thread, you suspect the dealer shortchanged you by selling you a gs300 instead of a gs350 but you later uploaded the picture of an is250/350 as your car.

At this point, I don't know what or which your car is and really can't help.

had similar experience ni madam, if the steering is hydraulic i will say no biggie but if na electric then it is a warning that the rack and pinnow is duff.

mine goes stiff then let me drive for a while which lated for like 2 weeks and then went permanently stiff like say it use overdose Viagra.

my only question to verify the problem is do you get a warning when the steering is stiff or not?? I checked for your vehicle I couldn't see it using electric steering though.

Disconnect your ABS module found in the engine bay this should disable ABS which communicates with EPS and see if that helps if it does not work then you replace the EPS module with a new live non accident with crash history with a new one . Hope it helps cheers.
