IMO STATE PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT FRENCH DELEGATION VISIT IMO STATE. A high powered team from the French Embassy visited Imo State today. The delegation was led by Dr. Sonia Darracq Regional Cousellor in charge of Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Togo, Niger and Cameroon. They were taking round to see critical agricultural sites, RAMP project sites funded by the World bank/ French Development Agency, SMU oil palm seedlings, various farms scattered in the state, Ekeukwu Modern Market under construction and had Meeting/Interaction with ISIPA, Owerri Chamber of Commerce, importers and Exporters in Imo state. They expressed satisfaction with the giant strides so far made by Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma Administration in the state. Impressed by what the French Ambassador Jerome PASQUIER saw when he visited Owerri two weeks ago. This team therefore, is delegated to come to Imo for further discussions on cementing the already established good business relationships expected to usher in several French companies to tap on the various investment opportunities in our state. The Director General of Imo state Investment Promotion Agency Dr. Jude Nzeako and the Hon. Commissioner for Agriculture and natural resources Dr. Lambert Orisakwe praised the French Embassy for her interest to partner with the Imo state government in the areas of technical education in Agriculture, power, waste management and exchange programs that will scale up the skills development of the business community. I like the attention Hope gives to roads. He should also address other areas, including the ease of doing business. It will attract more investments into the state and region in general. Only God knows the pains motorists were going through before he constructed the road in the picture below.

IMO STATE PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT RURAL ACCESS MOBILITY PROJECTS ( RAMP) RAMP In Imo State Has Graduated From Road Grading To Ashphaltic Construction Under Uzodimma~ Engr. Basil Nwogwugwu, State Coordinator RAMP We will construct Uburu Ekwe in Isu LGA to Nnenasa in Njaba LGA~Engr. Nwogwugwu. The Imo State Coordinator of the Rural Access Mobility Projects ( RAMP), Engr. Basil Nwogwugwu has disclosed that through the instrumentality of His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma, RAMP has graduated from road grading and shaping to ashphaltic construction. Engr. Nwogwugwu disclosed that RAMP is handling 380.7 kilometres of roads across the state with additional 100 pilot projects. The Coordinator stated that RAMP roads are supervised by a team of engineers and monitoring and evaluating officers in the RAMP office. He further stated that under Governor Hope Uzodimma, RAMP will soon move to phase 3, where it will embark on agricultural and market development projects in rural communities. Speaking as a guest on Orient Tv program "ENCOUNTER" the RAMP Coordinator revealed that the State government through RAMP will construct the road from Uburu Ekwe in Isu local government to Nnenasa in Njaba local government. He noted that the road has been captured by RAMP as one of the 26 roads in the state approved to be constructed with river crossing.

IMO STATE PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT IMO STATE URBAN WATER SUPPLY Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation has commenced the installation of bulk meters The government of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has commenced the installation of bulk meters in all urban water works. The bulk metres will be used to measure and ascertain on a daily basis, the volume of water produced and released to the public. This is part of the ongoing water sector reforms under Governor Uzodimma which emphasizes transparency in water consumption and usage. The bulk metres will also help in tracking non revenue water(that is wasted water as a result of burst pipes and water theft). In Aladinma/Ikenegbu areas for example, many people are getting public water and still deny same. The bulk metre will be used to checkmate such abuses and denials eventually.

sanctity454:Well, this is a good move if they ae truly doubting the people when they say there is no water coming from the public water works supply. The bulk meter will read ZERO from month to month and finally prove to all doubting Thomases that the public water supply pipes are totally DRY! |

asha80:Hope still has plenty of time to impress people. He ought to play less politics and focus on development and improving the lots of the people. @sanctity454, is there any major new project that Hope kicked off? Even though Rochas was a huge clown and con artist, we must commend him for starting and completing several huge infrastructural projects like universities, parks, etc. |

IMO STATE PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT DATELINE: 6TH APRIL 2021. Imo State Hosts United Nations Food Systems Exploratory Dialogue For South East Zone. The Dialogue is geared towards improved food system in the state. It is designed to galvanise new actions to deliver progress on all 17 SDGs, each of which relies to some degree on healthier, more sustainable, inclusive and equitable food systems. The Imo State Government today hosted the South East Food Systems Dialogue. The dialogue is a United Nations programme required to improve nutrition security, reduce hunger and prevalence of malnutrition in line with the national food and nutrition policy for Nigeria. The dialogue is also meant to create a more inclusive, healthier food systems, encourage a collaborative approach towards building a sustainable food systems and enhance the achievement of the sustainable development goals (SDGs). The Food Systems Dialogue is part of a decade of action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, and to advance issues affecting nutrition, food security and inclusive development . The Imo State focal person on the food systems dialogue, Dr. C.C. Osuala who is the Honourable Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning and Statics disclosed that the aim of the summit is to harness promising food systems improvement approaches from multiple stakeholders, without leaving any one behind. According to Dr. Osuala, the dialogue was instituted to exchange views on the pathway towards sustainable national food system, identify intentions and commitments of different food system actors, while ensuring access to safe and nutritious food for all while advancing equitable livelihoods for all. The Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals and Humanitarian Affairs, Princess Christina Ude was also in attendance, and harped on the need for a shift towards sustainable consumption patterns. She stated that Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG2) is a commitment to revolutionize our food systems, and ending hunger by 2030 which is possible – if we can join forces and secure the political will to act. |

IMO STATE PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT AGRIC PRODUCE BOARD TO BE ESTABLISHED BY IMO STATE GOVERNMENT The Imo State Government has disclosed it's plans to establish an Agricultural Produce Board. The Board will have a Price Index desk which will encourage farmers especially small scale farmers in their production and food value chain activities. The Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning and Statistics, Dr. C.C Osuala disclosed this during the United Nations Food Systems Summit 2021, organized by the Imo State Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning and Statistics in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning at the Concorde Hotel, Owerri. According to Dr. C. C. Osuala, the Agricultural Produce Board will give incentives to farmers so that whatever they produce will be processed, and packaged for export purposes as well as domestic consumption. The Commissioner stated that part of the objectives of the summit was to ensure affordability of food in the state and also the production of food in large quantities. On why the United Nations found the Summit necessary, Dr. Osuala said it was due to the need for all nations to organize at their different national and sub-national levels sustainable agenda's on food for all in order to achieve zero hunger for all citizens. Speaking at the summit, the Commissioner for Health Dr. Berthlomew Okorochukwu said that human beings cannot live without food more especially nutritious food that would add to their overall development while calling on the South East to develop agricultural products to meet the health needs of the people to make them function better. The Curator of the United Nations South East dialogue, Nkiruka Enwerelum stressed the need to focus more on processing, storage of food, to make it available at all times.
