Imo prison attack: IPOB may not be responsible – HURIWA suggests

The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has said members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, may not be responsible for the attacks on the police headquarters in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The rights group has alleged that some persons working with the Federal Government may be behind the attacks.

Some yet-to-be-identified gunmen had also broken into the Correctional Centre in the city, freeing hundreds of inmates.

The gunmen who operated from 1 am to 3 am, freed suspects in almost all the cells at the State Criminal Investigation Department of the command.

However, HURIWA claims some officials out to destabilize the Southeast are responsible for the attacks.

The group said this in a statement sent to DAILY POST by its National Coordinator.

The statement reads partly: “We think that there is nobody with his or her senses intact who is from the South East of Nigeria that is happy that the peace they have enjoyed for a long while is about to be destroyed.

The cheap imagination that the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) may be responsible for these attacks, may not exactly be the true representation of the facts behind all of this sponsored violence in the South East of Nigeria.

We think there is a plot by some persons working and embedded in government in Abuja who wants to instigate unrests in the usually quiet and peaceful Igboland to deny the region of the opportunity of making a strong case to produce the President of Nigeria of a South-East extraction in the 2023 Presidential elections.”

The way the attacks are coordinated. The way the security agents are easily overwhelmed, the way the IGP immediately rushed to conclude it's IPOB, the way endless online posters and strategic media houses jumped out of their skins to blame IPOB one after the other... These all looks like a false flag operation! Call a dog a bad name in order to hang it..

It's the same way they created "The Avengers" and used them to play the role of Niger Delta militants for few months and then pretended they have reached agreements with the Niger Deltans.. Looting their resources nonstop since then..Same way they created a kidnapping epidemic in the SE under Obasanjo and used that as a destabilizing effort in the middle of the MASSOB crises. Typical false flags operations.

It's actually amazing that "alleged seccessionists" attacked POLICE HQ for 3 hours in the most secured area of a city without re-inforcements, releasing over 1500 inmate and strolling out majestically in the dead of the night when everyone on the streets can be assumed a criminal.. yet not a single casualty and armoury safe?..

Haba.. the whole drama is too easy, when is part 2 coming out?

According to the ig of police, hundreds of gunmen engaged police officers for hours, yet nobody died. No body injured. How is that possible. Not even the police and mopol manning the checkpoints.
Secondly how do gunmen overrun the police hq, prison which is on the same street as govt house and for 3hours reinforcements from the military barracks was not called in. Three whole hours. Even the dss officers did not intervene. I repeat hope uzodinma planned the whole affair. Hope is the unknown gun men leader.
According to police the men sang victory songs at govt round about for 30mins b4 storming the hq and guess what no reinforcements came forth

Isn't it obvious that Ipob are not the ones responsible for the so called attack. Anything to drag the name of Ipob in mud is gladly welcome by northern terrorist apologists.

why will Nigeria not asked a simple question but will be pointing finger at ESN. How can a State Police HQ attacked No single resistance encounter by so called Unknown Gunmen, Not even any single bullet wound from either police or Gunmen and yet one will say is not staged. This police HQ Is just adjacent to Government house. The unknown Gunmen not only attacked Police Hq but went to correctional service and freed 2000 inmate still no any service men or Gunmen sustained injury. Where was the policemen on duties, has any of them being arrested because in a sane society those policemen on duties will be answering questions on what happened. police commissioner should have tendered his resignation by now. If IPOB was involved the whole Armory would have being looted.

If it was IPOB, the military would have been drafted in already, harrassing and killing innocent citizens. This matter is still dangerous all the same, something sinister is being planned for the SE. IPOB has to be seen by the world as a terrorist organisation with EVIDENCE so as to justify a military invasion of the region. Nnamdi Kanu is a braggart by nature, trust me, if his boys were responsible for this, he would have boasted about it gleefully. Something is wrong with all these "unknown gunmen" story cool

The south has useless leaders,
But Igbo leaders are some of the most useless people in Nigeria!

It's clear Igbos are being set up for a fall, and as usual their leaders would hold the gate open for them to be massacred, as per normal,

Still observing, but I seriously hope this is not a false flag operation.
On 31/08/1939 there was a false flag attack on a German radio station 'Sender Gleiwitz' based in poland.the attack was planned by Nazi Germany as an excuse to justify the invasion of Poland, The attackers posed as Polish nationals and even wore polish army uniforms. The next morning Germany invaded Poland and thus the second world war started.

Only people without brain think IPOB will be there for 2 hours chanting and shooting without soldiers coming to confront them. Who are they deceiving? This is the work of the government, they want to discredit IPOB/ESN in order to make them unpopular and pave way for Fulani to come in and take over Igbo land. We all know their plans and they will fail. May God continue to protect ESN and strengthen them to protect our ancestral lands .

This whole thing sounds too fishy.

I am leaning towards this being a staged invasion.

Hopefully, we can have some investigative journalism get to the root of it.

Is dancing and chanting the first thing to do when you want to go and cause mayhem? That is enough to alert everyone you are around
Thank God Huriwa sees it differently.

To me I believe some forces want to unleash evil in Imo state and neighboring states, be vigilant imolites ... the Hq should release cctv footage of the Invasion and escape, I believe a whole state hq should have cctv backed up to cloud even if the cameras where destroyed during the invasion

The question is:
Who are the so-called igbo leaders?
Who made them igbo leaders? Where, when and how?
We need to have a clear head when talking about these issues..
Babangida made Orji Kalu, Obasanjo made the Ubas, ditto Emeka Offor and co..
Rochas? Arthur Eze? They have consistently told you who made them what they are...., And their loyalties are all over the place as a result..

Essentially, Abuja created all sorts of pro Nigeria fake igbo leaders to dominate politics in the east.. Folks who most probably would have been nothing without their "foreign" benefactors..
You are not going to expect those types to defend the so called igbo interests up to the point of antogonizing their benefactors.. It's that simple..
Used to think this is so easy to decode...
