Hello All,

I hope we are keeping well and staying safe?

Please, I need urgent assistance with accommodation. Does anyone know of any vacant accommodation around
Ballymount or Grange Castle/Clondalkin , Dublin 22 area? Shared apartment, a room/ studio ?

I intend moving as soon as possible within the next 2 weeks once some restrictions are lifted and some industries are opened.

I will appreciate any lead and assistance.

Kind regards,

Louis

Interested in Undergraduate degree in Social work or a more business oriented postgraduate degree in Data Analytics outside Dublin? Then you may want to consider Limerick Institute of Technology.

LIT also has 1 year Higher diploma options in IT / Business for graduates with a 3rd class and they also get 1 year work permit after graduation before proceeding for masters degree.

Hmmnn! I'm in Waterford and even here rent is not that cheap as housing is very scarce! Is it an uncompleted building? Either that or the BER rating of the house must be bad. People should beware oh!

Does anyone have any concrete news on the newly mandated quarantine for 2weeks on arrival at one's personal expense? How true is this and are we truly included, please?

Has your visa application been approved?

The number of visas refused from the Ireland embassy in Nigeria is crazy...It makes no sense...when you compare that to the Ireland embassy in china and India, total difference..90% of the applicants in these countries visas are approved..is it that we are not being treated fairly or we are doing something wrong with respect to our application..
Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by Alday: 12:31pm On Apr 12, 2021
It can be a frustrating situation but I beleive you'd be better off by stating the reasons given for the refusal if you have one yourself.

Okay..I haven't been refused just stating that based on general observation and also from the visa decision list on the embassies' websites

These guys pay hugely as compared to Nigerians where most of us pay 6000 deposit and we often times don't have enough finances as proof of funds for the visa application. Another reason being bilateral relationships between these countries. Nigeria does not even have good relations with African countries much more their Foreign counterparts.

Hi everyone smiley

I would really appreciate your responses, especially if you are in Waterford or you are a Nigerian PhD student who has travelled to Ireland with a baby/family members.

I have just been offered a fully-funded PhD for 4 years at WIT. I intend to go with my baby, who would be about 8 months old by September and I am really anxious about sorting out child care. My questions are:

1. Creche fees in Waterford seem very pricey, from my research (170-200 Euros per week). How have you handled child care while in Ireland? Please feel free to share any tips that could make child care cheaper and stress-free for me.

2. Is 16,000 Euros enough to cater for modest housing, full-day Creche fees, and upkeep for me and my baby every year?

3. I would really appreciate some advice around finding affordable accommodation in a safe and child-friendly area within Waterford City.

Thank you in advance for your response smiley
