Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Paul in other verse of the bible wrote that, the christ has abolished the the old covenant with all her ordinances and requirements.

Ephesians 2:15
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;


This law of sin and death definitely refers to the one that has being abolished.

Why then, is it call the law of sin and death?
It is called the law of sin and death because the flesh takes advantages of the law to work out more sin, so those who want to work righteousness through the law of commandments find themselves working out more sin although they are sincere.


The law of the spirit of life in Christ, is in agreement with our new nature, unlike the law of commandments that is against the Adamic nature.

The law of the spirit is embedded in the nature of the regenerated man.

When we walk in the spirit we walk in that law, the result is that we will not be under the law but a fulfillment of the law.

That law speak of the reality of our new birth, To walk in the spirit we have to first of all mortify the deeds of the flesh, which means to deaden it or to shut it down, as new creatures in Christ we have being empowered to mortify our flesh, because we died when Christ died and rose when he rose, that reality is already programmed in our new nature in christ.

Most Christian do not fully recognize, the power of their salvation in Christ, salvation is not dying and going to heaven, it is far more than that,
In fact the bible didnt say we will spend eternity in heaven.
Heaven is not our final place, It is the new earth that is our final home!

Take a look at this,
There is a new heaven and new earth coming, for you to be part of it you have to be a new creature.
However, for you to be a new creature you have to be part of the new covenant!.

What do you notice in all of these? New! New!! New!!!.

This current world is old, just as the old covenant passed away, so this old earth and this old human race will pass away.

The law of the spirit of Christ works by faith! It is very important to note this.

Through the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus we fulfill the law, something that people who are pursuing the law cannot achieve,
They cant fulfill the law because they depend on the flesh.

Just like a man trying to trekk from Nigeria to Australia to see a friend! But with an internet you could chat with your friend or even do video call.
Now the end goal is communication! Both the man that trekked and the man that uses the internet had the same goal, and that is to communicate but however the man with internet succeeded but the man that tracked failed.

The end goal is righteousness but the means is different,
Those who go by works, are like the man that trekked, even if he pray for grace to treck, he would be wasting his time.
But the righteousness by faith, is like the man who used internet connection but unlike the man with internet connection that had to contact his friend, it was Christ that contacted us Halleluyah

For when we were yet sinners Christ died for us

Romans 5:6
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Romans 5:10
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus works by showing and reminding us of our spiritual nature and position.

That is why in paul's admonition to the Christians he always remaind them of their new position in christ.

We ought to renew our mind constantly that is because we are living in a sinful world, and the only way to continue your victory over sin is to continue to be reminded of your position and be admonished to stand in it.

For the Christian it is a continuous fashioning process,

Colossians 3:9-10 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Look at this! Put away lying from you!
Why? Because you have put off the old man and put on the new man (position).

Sons are not suppose to behave like servant!
Each believer has to learn and grow in the new life of Christ,
The Law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus gives us freedom because it is inline with our spiritual nature as Christians.

Wrong! In Romans 8, What Paul refers to as the law of Spirit and Life instead in fact a law/commandment stipulated as part of the New Covenant(Jesus Christ) which declares that those who believe in Him, Jesus Christ, are saved from the Condemnation of Sin(Death), which is not to be confused with sin itself.

John 3 vs 16-21 (ERV)

16. “For God so loved the world,[i] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

19. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. [/b]

As Paul stated in his letter, those who believe are made free(saved) from the condemnation of sin(Death) and granted Life(grace) of the eternal life in its place.

Wrong! If you had paid attention to the context, you would have seen that mentioned are two peoples, separated by a wall,... Jews and the Gentiles. And from reading the bible, we know it was not what Paul refers to as the law of Sin and Death, God's own judgment from the very beginning, which stood between the Jews and the Gentiles.

Also, the law of Sin and Death which applies to all of mankind(since the time of Adam) does not have many commands and rules as claimed in Ephesians 2, so it was definitely not the law Paul wrote of in the verse you posted.

Wrong again! Paul calls it the law of sin and Death because God literally declared to Adam would surely die on the day he sinned.

Genesis 2 vs 15-17 (ERV)

You are again mixing things up. Paul's law of the spirit of life in Christ simply refers to the New Covenant commandment which when obeyed, grants the person salvation, not from sin or from Hell, but instead from the condemnation of Sin(Death), placed on every unbeliever since Adam according to the law of Sin and Death. In place of Death, the new believer is granted eternal life(grace) - the only guarantee received from this law of the spirit of life in Christ.

Read again the passage from John 3 vs 16 -21! As for regenerated man, there is no "regeneration" spoken of as far as salvation in the context above or anywhere else. The same goes with your claim of a "new nature" ... no mention of any such in the passage where the law is made clear to all who can read.

I am sorry, but nothing in the New Covenant that is Jesus Christ comes to explaining or backing up any of what you state here.

And Faith in Jesus Christ is gotten through the acceptance(trusting) and obedience of His teachings/commandments which is the New Covenant Truth that is Jesus Christ.

I am afraid you have got it all twisted. Jesus Christ, the New Covenant, is the Law where the Kingdom of God is concerned, in much the same way as the Old Covenant Law of Moses(YHWH) is the Law as far as the Kingdom of Canaan is concerned.

Jesus Christ announced this to all when He advertised that He has come with an easy YOKE and a light BURDEN, terms associated with Contracts/agreements/Covenants/Laws from the time of the Israelites. Like other Covenants before Him, the New Covenant comes complete with its own set of blessings(about 10), curses(about 20 of them), required ritual( Last supper), commandments/laws(also known as yoke...about 50 of them), seal(1), promises(2) and burden to bear(your own cross in this case).

Matthew 11 vs 27-30 (ESV)

27. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

30. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

And since the New Covenant consists of about 50 something separate laws/commandments, you cannot by obeying one law, fulfill the entire Covenant, in much the same way Jesus Christ was not able to fulfill the Old Covenant Law of Moses(YHWH) simply through the obedience of one law/commandment.

Jesus Christ Himself, who went before you, went by the way of His works - His Faith, and Righteousness, seen through His works where everywhere He went, He was doing good works. And He instructed that you do exactly as He did too.

John 15 vs 5-10(ESV)

Therefore it is safe to declare that Faith refers to the works done in obedience to the commandments/teachings of the New Covenant, Jesus Christ. Disobedience of the same teachings/commandments amount to sin against those who refuse to obey Him.

Where do you infer, from the above passage, that there is a "spiritual nature" revealed?

Salvation from the condemnation of Sin(Death) is not to be mistaken for salvation from sin, but no one who is saved from Death is automagically saved from sin. Again, read the passage above where Paul's law of the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ is detailed. There is no mention of saving or victory from sin since that commandment only stipulates that obedience to that law yields eternal life(grace) and nothing else.

Do not add or remove from the commandments of the New Covenant as those who do heap curses on their lives as a result.

And how does each believer learn and grow in the "new life of Christ" when you seem to conveniently avoid the very commandments of the New Covenant Law that is Jesus Christ - His very teachings in it all?

Jesus Christ said of His New Covenant, "learn from me". How can you learn from Him when you literally avoid learning from Him in disobedience of Him? His very teachings and examples comprise the New Covenant Law which you claim to believe in.
