Truth is.... there's this Indian guy I sub contract my work out to(indians are actually dirt poor)....all I do is troll on nairaland for some laughs and it helps with the facetime.....my boss always thinks am working on some project but it's basically just nairaland and a minimized IDE with trash code(boss doesn't know two shits about coding). I love my job.

However I don't code 18hrs a day everyday but I have definitely coded all day because of deadlines and money

There is no answer to this.

One thing is certain though, the greater the hours you put in, the faster you will be job ready.

The fastest I have seen is a year though.

I have heard stories of people getting front-end developer jobs at companies after one year of serious coding.

LOL.... I was actually trying to rest my brain after a long coding day while I came accross this great question.

I code almost all the hours in a day, my wife had to drag me from my computer sometimes. Even when i'm not coding, i think about how to implement a code.

Typical programmer's life I guess.

I will be needing Developers that are good with Web and Mobile App Development. (Android and iOS)

A good sense of Design (UI) is a plus.

You don't really need much of a programming skills with cyber security

Unless you wanna follow the deep cyber security angle which is hacking and cracking... tracking/tracing of an unwanted IP in ur server network

I think it's the number and quality of projects you've done and how good looking your GitHub and stack overflow accounts are....plus you could start with non paid internships to help with your CV. This is purely based off my personal experience...

It's actually six months with extreme seriousness. I have seen 3 months but they were doing like 18 hours everyday.

Yeah I've noticed that trend...but I don't think it's the case with Africa, there are still opportunities and good developers aren't even enough, also every Tom, dick and Harry can jump on the trend but it takes dedication to be consistent.

I don’t measure by hours. It’s just a habit to me or will I say lifestyle

I don't enjoy writing codes. Rather, what I enjoy is the thinking process involved in solving problems algorithmically.
I spend all day thinking about constructs, edge cases, use cases, data structures, time and space complexities etc

I'm not even really good with any programming language

Once I solve the problem on my whiteboard I'm okay. I can use any language to test if my solution works

I have absolutely zero knowledge of programming. Total zero. But then, I see some interesting things like cloud engineering, data science, cyber security. Question is, can I take a course in any of these even though I have no prior knowledge of languages like python, c++, etc?

They are the ones on Twitter under web development and computer programming topics giving us CSS cheatsheets and 10 ways to make Javascript solve the world's problems. I mean, if they are so obsessed with coding, they won't have amassed 189,000 tweets in 3 years 'cause they'd be too busy coding.

And the ones who really make money from coding are startup execs who assemble coding talents to do most of the 'dirty' work while they monitor final programme executions and interface with clients. The business part and monetising coding matter more to them.

Why do guys code when there is basically plug-in for Everything you need.
