Sizzorkay:People think job creation and education is the key to end security. Fyi, some boko haram members are educated, some studied chemistry, engineering, infact some are programmers but guess what, they are all using their skills to make bombs, hack government networks and create specialised cars for attack against the military. |

And where did i ever said that was the only thing needed to end terrorism? And who told you this only applies to terrorism alone. An uneducated, jobless, hungry soul is a recruitment pool for trouble makers. You mean you missed all that? If people feel neglected, zero govt presence in lots of places, no social safety nets, no support, no loans to start a business, no job training centers, etc. And you don't understand the security threats the lack of these facilities pose to any country? smh. why am i even responding to this. motymop: |
| Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by motymop: 11:15pm On Apr 09, 2021 |
Sizzorkay:Anyone can be recruited by any group. Many cultists are educated, some are not hungry but they were still recruited into cult to cause havoc. When people like you think that loans to start biz, social safety etc will help in reducing terrorism, i laugh. US has all these but lot of cities are still unsafe....have you checked their crime statistics, you will be suprised by the number of violent crimes that occurs in that country daily. |

JOSCOFELIX:From your past post, your reasoning level and you said you are from Kogi...I guess you are an ebira person..cos they are the people with a very low IQ level in Kogi and sorry to say most of them do not really even know who their father is...family of 5 kids, 2 may belong to the real husband and the rest 3 kids to different fathers...There is one here called yarimo always spewing trash and you would know he didnt finish school from his level of reasoning and comments...And here you come with similar attitude and reasoning...I don't think you are very far from an ebira person...some of your intel may be correct but your presentation is too childish as if you just found out yesterday how to surf the internet...!! |

So in your expert opinion, there is no direct correlation between poverty and the ability of extremist groups to recruit? okay motymop: |
| Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by motymop: 11:22pm On Apr 09, 2021 |
Sizzorkay:It has no correlation. IDEALISM make people join extremists groups, not poverty. Do you think they are paid to go kill. People want to belong, preach an idea and tell them they are fighting for a cause and you will see people join in droves. Are IPOB members paid? Are bokoharam members paid? Just think about that for a minute. Didn't you see people from many developed countries going to Syria to join isis or al Qaeda. The Nigerian guy that almost blow up a plane in the United states was from a well to do family here in Nigeria |

US is a big country, and the police actually shows up when you call them, I live in that same US for the past 20yrs, so no need to tell me about it. But, i don't see terrorists running around the US claiming territory, and every violent group in America is definitely under 24hrs surveillance . How come you don't have terrorists in better developed countries? maybe you can enlighten us as to why that is. Never mind the fact that they have better police force, better and stronger institutions, a functioning judicial system, and police that actually patrol 24/7, rain or snow. And over here, kids as young as 11 can still be out at 2am without any harm coming to them, people actually live in Apts with their bedroom windows a few feet from the sidewalk without a 15 foot fence surrounding their property. It doesn't mean there aren't criminals here, again, duh, point is their system actually functions better than ours Tell me, would you be able to sleep at night if you have no fence around your home in Nigeria? . Most won't, unless you live in a face me and face you, with tons of neighbors in same building. No need for comparison, my point is, tackling poverty and joblessness has a direct impact on security. This is well known. How many of those computer geek terrorists did you see running around with Ak47s? It's the poor that constitute the majority of their foot soldiers, that's my point. motymop: |

Chief, i never said educated people can not become terrorists or sympathizers. jesus, I'm talking about recruitment, are you telling me those boko guys whose bodies we've seen are all Rhodes scholars? We've seen a captured BH dude who claimed he was a butcher but joined them when they offered him money because he live in poverty, that's one simple example, so to say poverty isn't part of the tools, is beyond ignorance. It's never a one size fit all, poverty alone isn't a factor, but it matters, there are other reasons as well. Moving on. motymop: |
| Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by motymop: 11:43pm On Apr 09, 2021 |
Sizzorkay:You really think a poor and hungry person will carry weapon and tell himself he wants to go join bokoharam, where he is not even guaranteed of a pay talkless of his life. Is that not from fry pan to fire With your logic, every poor person would have join an extremist group to cure their hunger. People join extreme groups because of ideas, peer pressure and adventures not because of poverty. You think all the crisis in Nigeria is because of poverty, it has nothing to do with poverty or hunger but ideas. Most of the crisis in Nigeria has to do with agitations, herdermen and farmers, inter ethnic clashes. Greedy people who want cash are robbing and doing kidnapping, even many get rich from it but continue the dangerous act. |
| Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by motymop: 11:46pm On Apr 09, 2021 |
Sizzorkay:And you believe because he was poor that is why he joined bokoharam. Where is he guarantee his life and steady pay, cutting meats or fighting in a war that will take his life after 1 week. |

Again, one element isn't what it takes, ideology is part of it, i never said only one element causes terrorism, okay? Right there in London people are being recruited to join ISIS, we've seen young girls leave Europe and join them, so i get all that. But i do believe that terrorism thrives in underdeveloped regions, that's my believe, and lack of development might be aiding that, within that lack of development you have poverty, high illiteracy levels and zero govt presence, all of these contribute to the ability of terrorists to recruit members, that's my own opinion. Add ignorance to the list. motymop: |
