Bandits have invaded Gurmana Community in Shiroro Local government area of Niger state again, killed one person and abducted 10 others.

The bandits were said to have invaded the community in broad daylight yesterday on motorcycles and were shooting sporadically to scare villagers. They moved from house to house and carted away properties.

Besides the killing and kidnapping of the people, some houses and barns of yams and other foodstuffs belonging to the villagers were also set ablaze.

A top member of the local vigilante simply called Idi Fylo narrowly escaped being killed by the bandits but had his house and other valuables set ablaze

Another prominent member of the Community, Maiangwa Sarkin Zamma was also reported shot in the right arm and was immediately rushed to a nearby clinic for treatment.

Since the killing of six soldiers and a policeman by bandits in Allawa and Bassa last week, the bandits had been raiding villages in the communities almost on daily basis leaving the villagers to flee their abode.

Co-convener of the Shiroro Youth Associations Yussuf Abubakar Koki and Spokesperson of the Coalition of Shiroro Associations Comrade Salis Sabo when contacted separately confirmed the incident.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Friday graduated 186 Special Forces (SF) and Integrated Combat Operations (ICO) personnel who successfully completed their courses in Bauchi.

One hundred and forty-seven of the graduates were of SF course 8/2021, while the 39 others were of the ICO course 1/202, all trained at the Regiment Training Centre Annex in Bauchi.

Addressing the graduates, AVM James Gwani, Chief of Training and Operations, said the Regiment Training Centre remained a centre of excellence in the pursuit of ground combat skills training for NAF.

AVM Gwani represented the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, at the ceremony.

Gwani said the training was designed in a way to ensure that personnel of regiment, Air Police and intelligence specialities complemented themselves in Base Defence Architecture.

“In this light, let me acknowledge the contributions of the Ground Training Command and Training Team for the great jobs that they are doing.

“We have so far trained 1,415 personnel in this regard. I am happy to note that the collaboration between our organisation and other security agencies are mutually beneficial,’’ he said.

He said NAF would continue to build sustainable and functional Air Force that would be highly responsive to the nation’s security challenges.

“We have continued to invest in capacity building aimed at generating combat forces capable of securing their bases against all forms of hostile elements.

“The desire to make NAF the best in the sub-region necessitates new platforms, equipment and specialised training to support Federal Government’s policies.

“This, we must do to provide peace enforcement to counter insurgency in furtherance of our national security and developmental objectives,” AVM Gwani said.

Earlier, Wing Cdr. Kehinde Akinyosade, Commander (Training), said 503 personnel were nominated for the training out of which 165 were certified fit after screening.

Of the 165 who were certified fit, 18 withdrew, leaving Friday’s 147 graduates to complete the Special Forces Course 8/2021.

“Forty were nominated for the ICO Course 1/2021; one personnel was screened out for medical reasons leaving the 39 who graduated on Friday,’’ he said

Akinyosade added that personnel for the SF course were five officers and 141 Airmen/Airwomen, while the ICO course graduates were 35 males and four females.

An Unspecified number of women have been abducted by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect who attacked a community in Adamawa State.

The insurgents also killed five people, destroyed houses and other property and made away with belongings of residents, a source said.

DAILY POST gathered on Saturday morning that the insurgents stormed Kwapre, a village in Hong Local Government Area of Northern Adamawa on Friday evening, shooting randomly and picking up the women.

A source around the area, Innocent Geoffrey, told our correspondent on phone that the attackers were first thought to be herders out for vengeance attack, but later manifested their Boko Haram tendency, seizing the female residents they could lay their hands on, as residents scampered for safety.

“Right now ,there is no single person in Kwapri, everybody has fled the community,” Innocent said during the conversation Saturday morning.

The Member representing Gombi/ Hong Federal Constituency and Chairman, Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Yusuf Buba Yakubu who repesents the affected community in the National Assembly, reacted to the development with a statement expressing his concerns.

He said the insurgents who besieged Kwapre village in Garaha Ward of Hong LGA, killed and maimed unsuspecting community dwellers, destroyed homes and property and abducted some people.

“This latest attack on the innocent and peace- loving people of Kwapre is another senseless and cruel act of cowardice on a community that is renowned for peace, industry and serenity,” the lawmaker said.

That’s where most of their attacks on Damasak, Monguno, Gubio, Magumeri and Nganzai comes from.

It’s their traditional home. It’s one of the LGAs where the villagers have not returned back to their homes.

That place is almost 99% controlled by ISWAP. It’s a central LGA with links to almost all Borno north LGA without using the major roads.

I read an article on HumAngle about that place. It says it is the only LGA Borno start governor has never stepped into. I wonder why the military is leaving that place untouched.

uncle sam. i finish in my investigation about that town. that is the headquarter of iswap, the command center, reinforcement center, logistic center, mission planing center. at the end of my investigation , the military are planing good thing for the them in Gudzamala LGA. from what my investigation review the military cannot strike direct of the town, because at 20 km to that town iswap is aware of you advancement, the whole area is full of IED, tracnh around the communities making it difficult for the army to strike, air defense capacity based their, fighter from libya, mail, and iraq and iran based their, it was a location which commander adenyi try attacking and face a lot of resistant from the terrorist,. if Gudzamala fall, then iswap terrorist is over in nigeria. but the military are planning for that already. pray for the troop .

grin grin grin that place na confirm temple run area oo. the kind of Armour vehicles where dey there go finish you. from my investigation if iswap successful raid a base , the loot ammunition and vehicles will be take back to Gudzamala as a logistic base. the CDs when was in the north east have lead a mission to the town but the mission was unsuccessful. i think he is aware of that town. i heard the military are planing for them. according to specialist in mission planning say he advice the military to not start from one particular place but there should surround the whole of gudzamala and strike at once so to prevent them to relocate to another area,. to clear Gudzamala need 2500-5000 solider,
