There are amounts you lend to people that are plain ridiculous and questions the sensibility of you, the lender. If you don’t have sense, then it is quite normal that a fool and his money are parted.

I will give you an example;

A guy I knew who works in a hotel as a porter once came to me for a loan. He said his mum was sick and he showed evidence. How much did he ask for? N30,000. This was a guy earning 25k. He said he would pay back in two installments.

I would have been very stupid to believe a guy who earns 25k would pay me 15k each month and survive on 10k. He might have the CHARACTER (willingness to pay), but the CAPACITY is lacking. I simply gave him the money to go pay her hospital bills. If I went on to lend him that money, na me be mumu.

I have no recovery stories. Currently, I only lend to colleagues, we fix ourselves internally. Also if I have given you once and you paid back on time, don’t bother coming a second time, I won’t give. The second time is the trap.

Mine are my customers that buy things from me and refuse to pay. When I now ask them to pay, they start misbehaving, making me look bad for asking them my money. Some people are so bad, they don't have human feeling. At times they make me regret selling things for them.

one of my very awful flaws.
I borrow people money and feel too ashamed to request for the money back.thats y some times I usually borrow people the money I can afford to give away.i don't like confrontations, making that person feel ashamed for requesting money from me.
another worse flaw I have is If someone is lying to me,I usually act like I accept the lies Hook line and sinker and would desperately want the person to believe I don't know he is lying cus I don't want the person to feel ashamed when he realises that I know he is lying.

Okay so this guy called me up begging me to pls lend him money , he was a close friend so I decided to help him out , I gave him the 50k he requested and he promised to pay back month end..

Normally I would have dashed him the whole money but at the time I borrowed him I was broke and I borrowed to save him and also as a way to keep me from spending the money because that was like my last card ..

Month end reach and this guy did not call or text , after a week I called him and he told me to forget the money now , " u be big boy now "... I told him I'm broke and the money is my last hope , next tin I know this guy hangs up on me..

I was mad ehn.. I called him again and he didn't pick , he later blocked my line on phone and WhatsApp ... I was pissed but I remain calm , he taught me a bitter lesson.... But God will have it ,after about 3 months he did a business deal with a friend of mine ,..

The guy then gave me his own share cos his number was not going through at that time , so the guy gave me the cash to pass it to him , the cash was 120k.
.
since he had block me I couldn't call him , by the time he got to know that his money was with me he almost ran mad.. he couldn't drag it.. he begged and begged and begged and ask people to beg me .. I accepted his plea but that was after I removed 70k.....

To lend money out to some people is a sin. They will make you turn into a beast just to get back your money. For 6years and counting I initially lend money out to my old Secondary school class mate the sum of 500k. Fast foward he initially paid back 50k at the end of 40 days and that's how we dragged on. I initially brought in police after 1 and a half years b4 he paid 200k and pleaded he will pay the balance of 250k that year. Nothing happened for 6 months and then he now refused to pick my calls. I took him to court and that was how I was now spending extra money just to win the case. Finally, the case was in my favour and was agreed that he will pay instalments of 50k for 5 months.
He paid the first one.....and that was all. I currently leave in Abuja while he leaves in Jos where I took him to court.
I noticed I spent more travelling to Jos and pay my lawyer each time I go to court. So I decided I will remain in Abuja . Now he defaulted and the court has given power to sell any of his property to retrieve my money back.
I decided to hold on and thought how bad it will be for him and his family since lockdown started last year. Fast foward to 2021, I decided I will involve his pastor in church and just tell him how his church member was behaving which the pastor intervened and now I am promised to get back my money by the end of April.
*Never burrow huge amount of money to people struggling in life, they will give you high BP
* Never burrow money out of pity, you will regret it
* Never burrow money out for biz purpose, you are not a financial institution. The court will throw out your case
* Make sure there is a written agreement stating you are lending out money to be paid at a particular period.
* Give out money you can afford and forget it.

I have lost countless times I borrowed people money and they refused paying. Even the ones with capacity to pay will still be dragging it, saying bros you are ok naa, make you chill for this small money. If you tell family members that you won't give because you have some projects going on, that even make it worse.

For their mind, your project is more important thanlending a helping hand. That you are doing projects even shows that money is coming in. So I don't use that strategy again. The current pandemic is what is helping me ward them off. Tell them that you have been at home since last year and doing nothing. That has been my strategy and truly, I have been at home working. It is good when people don't know the type of job you do. Let them be guessing.

Debt destroys families and relationship. I now avoid them.

mine happened when I was still a fresher in university. I have a family friend who do take money from LAPO. so he told me he needs money to pay up his LAPO loan so that he can collect another one. that he needs 50k to balance up the payment. that imediately he collect the loan he will give me back my 50k. that was way back in 2006. I was just too naive and gave him my school fees. this guy refuse to pay me my money after collecting the loan for over two months and exam was already approaching. I told a friend of mine who was a cultist. they picked him up and he paid times two. so since then If you like be dying, I won't lend you money. I can only dash you o... if I have at that moment

There are many sets of borrowers

The one that will never get, since he don’t want to pay.

The one that will get and say, Walahi I never get.

And one that will say, if anything happen he happen.

The one that is also praying say, make him papa die so the money goes.

I gave Jamiu 7K$ yo add to his cash and buy a new brand Car.

He paid 960$

Jamiu The day we meet for lasgidi........ you go pay oh !!!!!!

Na Jamiu don make self ....... to give people wey dey even go school for him town money,no possible again.

Once you start, begging process or borrow process and say you are from ..... IL****

I go just remember the ingrate and close that door......

Re: Share Your Experience Collecting Your Money Back From Your Debtors by alezzy13: 8:02am On Apr 11, 2021
The simple fact is once you lend to someone far lower than you socioeconomically, you are unlikely to get the money back, even if they promised heaven and all they will pay. ..

In fact some will see it as wickedness when you start requesting for it: "you wet get all plenty money just dey disturb. . .na becos I ask you sef" shocked

Bottom line, just give what you can, and forget.

Borrowed one guy money to pay back problem. I just looked for old plastic dolls, palm wine small calabash, native chalks, some leaves, red pieces, mirror, and my neice red water color... I took them to a stream behind my house, i printed his pictures and family pic from fb... Put them there, started doing yeye incantation and some strong benin words. I sent him the video... It didn't take him 10 minutes to send me my money after seriously begging me to even collect it. The mother that was always covering for him was the first to call to beg
This is creative but risky ooo, just imagine something bad happened to him by a way of coincidence after your fake incantations, na prison straight ooo

My case is similar. I loaned my best friend #250k. As in childhood friend from the same secondary school. He works as a fullstack senior web developer.

Stays on his own. He said he needed to change his apartment to a better place that he would pay by month end once salary enters.

Out of pity, I sent him the money, since February till date oga told me that his work is presently unstable that he is combing for other jobs.

He's not called for a month now. I know it's his girlfriend that is making him act stupid but I know what to do.
