Realising this means you're paying very good attention. Spirituality isn't all there is to build in a person. In fact, when a person struggles in other aspect of their life, their spiritual life may be affected. This isn't the time to say "trust in God. It will be well, brethren", it is a time to deeply understand why their economic situation is the way it is and how you could be of help, it doesn't have to be financial often.
It is time to preach topics that are pertinent to situations most of your members experience.
People are tired of this Heavenly race, they want to make a decent living here on Earth first. How can you help them live rightly financially, socially, spiritually, psychologically? That is your job.

No come preach Heaven and Hell.

God bless you all niaraland members.

For a little now I have been privileged to serve God as a pastor in a newly planted church, to the Glory of God. There is no great building yet, just a temporary structure made with wood. I am not bothered about that, because humans are the church and not the building.

Now my experience is this, I have come to realize that many of us are going through economical problem, rather than spiritual problem. Anyday I am sitting in church for counseling purpose, majority of people that comes for counseling are those looking for what to eat, you will hear things pls pastor whatever you have give me to eat.

One day I shed tears, because I could not have anything to help some persons. My conclusion is this, churches should help each other. I am setting up a day for compassion purpose, even though we are not much in number yet, members we be encouraged to bring what they have to help others.

Kindlt send me a PM or reach out to me on whatsapps using the number on my profile. It's my private number and I put there for you. I will remove it tomorroe so pls hurry and get it.

No calls whatsapp only.

Nothing like spiritual root. Bad leadership, governance and economic are the root causes. Wake up Africa.

The pastor is complaining due to low turn over. In time to come, when money starts coming, the true human greed in him will set in. He is still at the infant stage, even himself is financial down. l just hope some folks do some donations for him and the congregation.

God work, Pastor, but....
It will be better to teach people to fish rather than give them fish to eat!

I think that simply telling your members to bring materials to help others may not be good enough (though good attempt) but I think you should encourage your members to go to schools (those who can), aspire to be in position of power, venture into serious legal business and then when they get "up there" they should always look back to the church to lift more people out of poverty!
I think I will call this model, "lift up model" grin
Good work Pastor, I think you're doing great and you yourself should remember the son of who you were when finally the tiny contributions of each member finally lift you out of poverty.

No ma'am!
The rich have their own kinds of problems although not usually financial. Haven't you heard of rich people commiting suicide?

There problems could include having wayward children, having some sickness (emotional, physical , psychological). They could have dreams and nightmares concerning these.
. He could see his drug addicted son pursuing him with knife in his dreams. He could have nightmares of his business burning down...

Although, the truth is that the rich man will not seek God as a solution to his problems UNTIL he has exhausted the power of his money and connection.

The Rich are also not prone to accusing their Village People for their problems: these seems to be the only difference.

Most of them are not working I guess. Tell them to find something doing with their hands and the Church will support you.

The poor will always be in the Church anyway

Hungry man may not be able to shout Hallelujah. When the Israelites were taken as captives, the Babylonians came demanding them to sing those songs of Zion, to make mockery of it but thank God they were bold enough to to challenge them, that how shall they sing the Lords song in a strange land. Poverty, hunger, unemployment, disorganized family, lack of fees, burglary.,theft, kidnapping, banditry, terrorism etc are all 'strange land '.

It's Good to help or assist when you can.
It's good to Encourage those who Have to bless others when they can
But you must be Careful not to Lose Focus on what is Pirioty!

The Food , money or cloths you give cannot save their souls.
What is Most Important is not to feed our flesh but to feed the Spirit with what it needs.

The Word of GOD ! The Gospel that will save their souls is most Important. So do not leave the Gospel and begin to serve tables..

I have come to realize that many of us are going through economical problem

You're right.

And now you said "churches should help each other" then I began to ponder where church A would get money to support church B if still not from her members.

You see pastors should drop this gospel preaching and let's focus more on counseling people how to get their lives together .

counsel your church members how to use their time efficiently to make ends meet rather than asking them to come for Mon-Fri church weekly service.

I don't know what a young man/woman who suppose to be at work around 9am is doing in church praying for what??

We are just unlucky to be in a country where the system are not working nah why we deh reason say village people deh after us. Bros nah Nigeria gan gan be our problem.
