But Igbo women are the most educated and advanced in Africa. Is education no longer the best legacy?

It's quite the contrary sir. Along gender lines, do you know that the highest educated gender in igboland is the girl child? Generally, both genders are given equal opportunities to gain quality education but choices are different. The men would drop out from school at the secondary level or at best, get the O' level certificate and then dive into the world of business while the girl child gets a degree. Now, can you say that the girl child is caged?

Igbo Culture permits a woman to receive inheritance from her father with the exception of the Ala Obi(simply put, an ancestral land of a family which was the original home of their forefather). This land is transferred only to the first son of family and can never be sold. This land is the familyz identity. Till date in Igbo Culture,even when people don't know you personally in your village, you can be identified by simply mentioning your surname which is in most cases, the name of your forefather. Should a woman receive this particular inheritance, what do you think would happen when she gets married?
