I don't understand. Is staying in Nigeria be force? Isn't it an antithesis to the spirit of democracy that a nation (in this case, the Igbos) have an inalienable right to self-determination and self-rule? If Nigeria hates the Igbos so much, why not just fcking let them go?

The Igbos dilemma in Nigeria reminds me of when the Israelites were under captivity in Egypt , when pharaoh refused to let them go until he was ultimately destroyed, and that exactly will be the fate of Nigeria if it refuses to restructure, becomes accountable, equitable, with rule of law as an instrument for all the nations in it.

All the insecure zombies with low key hates for the Igbos masking under "one Nigeria", how can there be peace and a feeling of "oneness" without justice? Nigeria is dying, if it has not already died, it still, doing what is right to salvage what is left seems impossible to the northern class. It is only a matter of time, the zoo will fall, and then, everyone will know clearly who will survive as a separate nation. What a country.

what you ipobians dont understand is,you are fighting the nigerian goverment and not nigerian civilians....

And why do you think I'm an ipob? Do I have to be an ipob to say something that is common sense? I also support the oduduwa Republic and call for restructuring, I'm I a yoruba? And what exactly is the Nigerian government? Is the government a supreme entity that can't listen to the cry of the people?

As an analogy, what kind of parent will keep feeding his child garri to a point of kwashiokor when the solution is protein, and still flog the child for complaining and pointing that he wants fish not garri? You talked about this government like its a supreme, incapable of mistake entity that can't be challenged or summoned. The government should work for you, not otherwise.

there is no war anywhere in Igbo land but don't use it to threaten us. We have done it before and can still do it but be rest assured that the outcome will be different.

Igbos are never aggressors who go war mongering.. the last one was forced upon them..even with all the provocative genocide, they still didt take up arms till gowon over stepped his bounds. So it was and so it is till today..the igbos are not aggressors, but would never shy away from any kind of confrontation..

so if you are waiting for them to come confront those passing your women around in your own farms,u may even be extinct before knowing what had hit you. keep waiting for igbos to do your dirty work.

More like walked overall. Just walked over after Soviet Union and UAR did the work with aerial power. Them self couldn't engage the Biafrans on land battle.
Even ordinary Wikipedia can't fail to mention how Soviet Union and UAR did the work while your soldiers walked.

If the North thinks that the 'entire Nigeria' will help/joint hand in fighting East as was done during the Biafra war in 60s should wake up from their slumber, because the whole nation is polarized and want to take their own chance of self determination.
Gone are the days North, when you think the East will be the theater of war and continue to lot and destroy the entire population, the middle belt you so hoped on will disappoint you, the South South will not be soooo loyal again to betray their closes neighbor, while the west will also try to separate from the forced marriage.
Again, we want peace and a peaceful separation.

It has indeed become fashionable for some Nigerians, especially those from the core North to threaten Igbos with war anytime their is serious agitation for break-up. You will hear them saying things like "they should ask their fathers what happened in 1967-70" "another 3 million will be sacrificed" "your cities will be turned to dust" "you all will be starved to death" and bla bla bla it goes.

My question to these scaremongers is this, have you for once checked combatant casualties between Nigeria and Biafra during the civil war? I mean people that died at the war fronts during battle? Facts on ground proved that far more Nigerian soldiers were killed more than Biafran soldiers! This was despite the superior firepower at the disposal of the Nigerian army, with massive support from Britain, Russia and the Arab world!!

Each time the Nigerian army suffered heavy losses in the hands of Biafrans, they will turn around and visit their frustrations on the Igbo civilian population either through air raids or massacres. A good example of this was when Murtala Muhammed twice suffered heavy defeat when he tried to cross the Niger River into Onitsha. He turned around and massacred Asaba people! They also told their Egyptian and Syrian pilots who controlled their airfleet to straff civilian areas like markets, hospitals, churches, and schools. Worst of all, they also bombed aircrafts bringing relief materials like food, drugs and cloths to starving populations, especially the mass of refugees who were in desperate need of them. This was how the so-called 3 million were killed.

Now, back to present realities. Nigeria is no longer under regional governments where each region was semi autonomous but on the contrary, we now have 36 states. So, in essence, no one should expect another 1967-70 Biafra vs Nigeria type of warfare again. It can't happen, rather what could possibly happen is guerilla warfare. Hit and run type of battles that mostly occurs in the jungles. This is where things become tricky for Nigeria. We have proven over time to be incompetent in such battles. Examples abound eg. Biafra war, Boko Haram, militants and ESN.

It is in the best interest of Nigerian government to deescalate things and avoid a full blown guerilla warfare with ESN because if it gets to that, then it can only end with a referendum that will result in balkanization.

So stop threatening Igbos with war each time they voice their intentions to leave Nigeria because you guys will be the ultimate loser.

Is even happening in this present time. Eg: Orlu massacre; Obigbo massacre, Akwa Ibom massacre and recently Ebonyi and Benue massacre. They always turn to the poor women and children of the vulnerable indigenous people when they could not go after their real challengers. Weak and Coward soldiers claiming to be brave with market women. COWARDS.
The only way this will stop is to pay Evil with Evil..
If you keep complaining everytime they intentionally massacre women and children, you will have dregs of their communities coming over here taunting you about letters to CAF, FIFA, UNESCO and WAFU..
But if you identify their stock and visit them with supreme evil the very same way they do to yours in market places and religious centers and farms, They will surely get the message since the only language they understand very easily is violence..

What the Nigerian government relied on to "win" the war was the blockade and aerial bombardment of civilian population. Take this two out of the equation and you will see that the war would have continued for ages with no side winning despite the massive support Nigeria enjoyed and availability of massive arsenals.

Now, if IPOB/ESN is pushed into war, it can only be a guerilla war, thus aerial bombardment of cities, schools, markets etc won't happen and blockade will also not be possible. Then how would Nigeria expect to win?

The war may drag for 1, 2, 3 or even 5 years but ultimately, it will end in a referendum which everyone knows Igbos will overwhelmingly vote to go their way.

You expect me to continue to feed you so that you have more strength to continue fighting me when I want the fight to end soonest . What so you think they mean by "the end justifies the means ".....

Whether you justify it or not is not the issue here. My point is that the two desperate measures (blockade and bombing of civilian population) Nigeria took that made them to "win" the war won't be available to them should there be a guerilla war.

In guerilla warfare, you can't possibly go about bombing markets, schools, churches or hospitals! You can't also blockade our region! Rather you will only be fighting with ESN who would be manuevering in the bushes and jungles.

If the government becomes foolhardy enough to commit mass murders, then it will only fastfoward the involvement of global bodies like UN and you can bet Igbos have enough global presence both in numbers and influential individuals who would lobby for it. Then when UN gets involved, it will call for a round table discussion on how to stop the war and the key demand would be for a referendum to be conducted at a certain date. The referendum outcome would 99% be for a new country for Igbos.

Now you get the entire picture?
