Aribo will still come very good in the GWG. He is a quality talent. Got a high ceiling and I believe he will evolve into that more assertive player in the middle for us. Among our midfielders he remains the most adept at arriving late in the box to provide scoring threats for us. But his qualities show he can be much more. Etebo is a good squad player with the baddest workrate in the squad alongside Ndidi but won't offer us that midfield control we seek. Options will come. Ejaria is still incoming and he is a good ball carrier and midfield creator. Nwakali is seriously working his way back and is one that can orchestrate a game effortlessly. Little Lesley Ugochukwu should be the next rising big thing at CDM in Ligue 1 when he finally gets his senior chances next season. If Frank Onyeka makes the step up from Denmark into a top 5 league or even Belgium, be too could become a squad option. This is my hope and more (coz more players are still young and rising) for the CM and DM roles depth of the team. Just a matter of time. charlesemeka85: |

TheSuperNerd:The Etebo that you guys talk down on has been more impressive than Ndidi for Super Eagles in 2 tournaments that I watched all games. Wc 2018, ANC 2019..... I think he deserves some respect |

This guy again. Could you please stop quoting me to spill rubbish?? Who is talking down on Etebo?? Me?? Everytime you quote me it is just unrelated nonsense that leaves your fingers. What's the deal man?? Do you think you have done a better analysis of how good Etebo is than me on this thread? You better cease quoting me if you cannot bring yourself to say something sensible on my mention. You always quote me out of context. Thank you. 12large1: |

TheSuperNerd:Saying his just a good "squad player" at best when he has been the best SE midfielder at 2 tournaments that I watched and statistically documented by analyst is insulting. Based on wc 18 and Anc 19, if etebo is a squad player at best then what will iwobi and ndidi be?? But I don't personally try to quote you don't even look at the person that I'm responding to I just rrspond to comments. It isn't personal |

It is still me who said on this same thread that he was indeed our best player at WC 2018 and Afcon 2019. I have said that severally. So what is your problem?? But currently, Etebo is not a guaranteed starter in the Super Eagles and that should be common knowledge by now. Or have you not been following?? Etebo sits when Aribo is around. Is that lost on you? So he is a good squad player in that he can easily slot in for any of the midfielders right now based on availability. Is that hard to grasp?? Na wa. Guy... stop quoting me abeg. You always don't get the context of my posts. You did same on my Iheanacho and Onuachu post. Biko... Avoid me. This is my last reply to you. When you can coordinate your understanding better than you do now, we can talk. Bye. 12large1: |

12large1:You made it sound like Ndidi and Etebo compete for the same position in the GWG, which is somehow true and also part of why Ndidi can't replicate his club form in the GWG.. If you check the stats well again, you will see that Ndidi was also among the best in what he does.. at least,he was among the top tacklers at the world cup, while Etebo had one of the highest successful take on.. Ndidi doesn't play a double pivot midfield at Leicester, something Rohr constantly use in the GWG, so you can't really expect him to play the same way for both teams.. |

Just in case anyone here suffers amnesia, this post below is one of a few posts I made on Etebo alone. This was before our Benin republic game. So this talk of lack of respect for Etebo is totally bollocks. I am dropping this here just to remind others out there and to ensure you don't come quoting me saying nonsense about how I don't regard Etebo just because I stated a simple tactical fact about him not having the ability to dictate the flow/tempo of a game. His inability to do that doesn't make him a bad player at all bcoz lad still has other qualities he brings to the team. Na wa. TheSuperNerd: |

And this brings us to a tactical observation. Whenever Aribo starts alongside Ndidi, we see the best of Ndidi. The Brazil game especially comes to mind. Aribo doesn't drag defensive responsibilities with Ndidi even though he has to do his little bits defensively but an Etebo-Ndidi combo sees two powerhouses with crazy workrates kinda getting in each other's ways and "dragging" defensive responsibilities. So an Etebo-Ndidi double pivot always inhibits Ndidi. Need I say more? Danielnino00: |

TheSuperNerd:Nough said jare. Aside his ball hugging, another problem I have with Etebo is his lack of positional awareness on the pitch.. Sometimes, I can't even tell what role he is playing.. DM or CM? in my opinion,he is still very unrefined.. His pace and stamina are a huge asset though.. |

Here are my thoughts on Ahmed Musa signing up with Kano Pillars https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAbqqTYzUEc. Also right after I posted the video I found out that two South African sides are willing to sign Musa next season. Sundowns and Chiefs. |

I even added a few more lines. Lol... but yeah point gotten and glad you get mine. I know of his tactical flaws and yes his level of positional awareness isn't as high but what he offers are still huge for the team. Etebo is still a baller. Danielnino00: |

It's glaring to the eyes. Etebo in the Super Eagles always outperformed Winfred Ndidi. Sometimes, Ndidi just disappears. |

All this una etebo hype dey tire person I swear. It's heart piercing that we all do watch the beautiful game week in week out and know the attributes of good players in every position but tend to over hype our own based on sentiment Etebo is a below average cm and his greatest asset is his work rate. Ndidi on his part is a DM and does the job required in that position absolutely well. Aribo is the only average cm we can boast of and he has the talent to do more in that position with regards to his performances so far in the GWG colors As it is now we truly lack a well refined and above average cm which seem to make the team a bit disoriented in midfield which is the main reason i pray and hope one emerges soon in one of Europe's top leagues Its high time we reduce our hype of certain players and face the fact. To me etebo na confirm jam body type of cm with no bearing and composure but blessed with agility, energy and pace |

Moniter0:Etebo has been better than Ndidi at the national team level let's not make this what it is not. Ndidi is by far the better player at club level but when they wear green it isn't even close. |

Moniter0:We all watched 2018 world cup and 2019 ANC and the best SE midfielder in those 2 tournaments was ETEBO. So calling him average at best is calling all SE midfielders below at best. One thing I have noticed is that once people have their favorite here, anyone that his opinion goes against the contrary, they will feel attacked. Personally, I don't Give a fvck SE comes before any individual and I'm not analyzing on emotions |

BascoVanVeli:Oga you won't appreciate ndidi's impact in the national because his role is one that is less appreciated. You don't expect him do deliver tailor measured and defence splitting passes nor much flamboyance on the ball. What matter is his primary responsibility is well executed with aplomb Ndidi is indispensable in the national team currently unlike etebo who hv seen lesser minutes since the emergence of aribo You re to expect much from aribo and etebo as one of the links from defence to attack but not ndidi who's main responsibility is to shield the back for which he does excellently |

The German League is so underrated. I don't think any team in England can give us the kind of match Dortmund is. The same Dortmund a lot of sides have messed up. Impressed with their play but we are slowly gaining ground. The game is screaming for Gabriel Jesus and I hope Guardiola makes the call. Foden out, De Bruyne goes to the wing and gives long passes and crosses. Gabriel Jesus has to keep the central defenders on full pressure while Bernardo Silva needs to make runs in midfield to support Gundogan. |

charlesemeka85:I disagree with you sir. Even in his role in Leicester city, you'll see his work rate, but I've not really seen him do 20 percent of what he does at Leicester city in the Super Eagles. Instead, he would be causing unnecessary free kicks in dangerous positions. The Afcon matches against Algeria and Madagascar are examples. Those two freekicks led to a goal. |
