First of all it's good you discovered that Sumec Firman SPG3000E2 is not 4.5 KVA it's is actually 2.8 KVA. You were misled by the dealer who sold the Generator which is very wrong. SPG3000E2 is a very strong and durable Generator which you will enjoy because I use it. But if you insist on returning it because you need a higher KVA I will suggest you go for Firman AC6000E2 it is 4.5 KVA and extremely rugged and very strong. Don't go for Elepaq SV6800 because Elepaq is known for always exaggerating their Generator KVAs but Sumec Firman doesn't exaggerate their Generator KVAs they tell you the KVA the way it is. As I know Elepaq usually put big model numbers to catch the attention of buyers. Like this SV6000 is 2.3KVA in running but they claim it is 4.5 KVA. Next time if you want to buy any Sumec Firman product, visit their Facebook page SumecFirmanNigeria to get professional advice from the company.

Stop wasting your time and disturbing yourself. Go and buy coleman cable 2.5mm or the flexible, you're good to go.

Change your oil when due for service that's all. You're good to go. Even new generator, when started it will surely puff smoke for few seconds before it's not visible.

So what if it's a 1.5HP pump? This generator will even struggle with a 1Hp pump.

Sumec firmam SPG3000ES will power 1.5hp conveniently. Remove that struggle you put there. That's what I am using and I pump water twice every week with it...

You will check where they engraved Firman at the side of the half engine. Engine block, Air filter box, Carburetor, OHV cover. If you cannot find this engraved in side of the Half Engine it not Original Sumec Firman Half Engine.

This Firman is around 2.2-2.5kva while the TEC is 3.5kva. In stores both will be cheaper and it will be more difficult to get an original Firman.

It's not normal. Check your oil and plug.

How many hours do you on it daily?
When you service last where did the oil guage to? Hope u didn't pour little oil into it when serviced?
Which oil brand are you using?
Have you check your spark plug head?


Smoke puff for few seconds is normal when we ON generator, so I won't consider that as an issue,
