I found this thread really helpful when I decided to apply for my 25% benefit with Stanbic IBTC so I have decided to post my own journey.

Kudos to the initiator of the thread.

I applied for my 25% having gathered the required documents and placed a formal application via email on 20th August 2020. I was paid in less than 2 weeks.

20th August: Application was placed and acknowledged by Stanbic IBTC.
25th August: My previous employer had responded and my application sent to PENCOM for approval.
28th August: PENCOM approved. The amount was debited from my RSA. (28th was a Friday)
1st September: Payment hit my account ledger balance. Six hours later, payment reflected in my available balance.

Stanbic IBTC truly knows what they are doing. I was able to monitor the entire process via the portal even though my application was sent to them via email. In all, it took 12 days including weekend to receive payment from the day I applied.

Wow this is great. I also applied for mine and I was notified that my application has been submitted to PENCOM for approval. Expecting about 2.1M

Axa mansard for 6months and my pension was deducted from my salary when I resigned I requested for my statement of account from crusadersterling pension and I saw 0# naira I asked them what happened to my pension that was deducted from my salary they now said that the company never paid money into my account.pls wat shld I do

Good one there. I also got mine almost 3weeks. But now my question is that i want to know the duration to apply for another pay from my PFA cos i have already collected my first 25%. Someone should help out as soon as possible cos i got the first pay 2 months ago and am still jobless now.

A quick summary of my experience:
Applied for the 25% withdrawal of my pension on the 20st of January. Took about 4 weeks for my biodata to be confirmed by NIN which took me till 24th of February and got paid on the 28th of February.

Except for the wait for my biodata to be confirmed, everything was professionally handled.

I sent them a mail stating I wasn't in the country and asked if I could do it via mail like I did the last time to which they said I must visit a branch.

The commision had introduced the Data Recapture Exercise (DRE) in August 2019 to facilitate complete, accurate and current data collection of all RSA holders, both active and retired.

All PFAs have equally been directed by PenCom to issue acknowledgement slips to RSA holders who submit complete documents for their data recapture, the commission said. stanbic is actually very slow, it takes more than a week at times to pass a stage, i started processing 25% same time as a friend who uses leadway he has gotten his mine is still hanging at sent to "BAT", just hope it wont remain there for months, the speed at which i will switch to leadway as soon as i get my 25%, maybe they give preference to oil and gas firms that was why u got yours fast

My application with Stanbic IBTC Pensions went smoothly. I did my data recapture on the 19th of October at their office in Bauchi and applied for 25% benefits same day. I was called to bring declaration of age on 20th october. I just got my alert today, 3rd November, 2022 at exactly 8:55am. Everything took 2weeks.

Application: 19th Oct 2022.
Sent to Pencom: 25th Oct 2022
Pencom approval: 1st November 2022
Credit Alert: 3rd November 2022

Did you do your data recapture before you left? Stanbic IBTC requires customers to do that before processing their claims.

Your best bet here is to contact their customer service desk. Cos aside data recapturing, which ofcos I believe they should have a plan in place for customers in diaspora, you can process your claim online through the IBTC pension app cos that's what I did. Just have in place an exit letter from your last place of work and you're good to go.

If I can remember, it's just a letter on company's letterhead, addressed to IBTC, stating that I was a staff from so so date and resigned on so so date. Signed by HR.

I am now waiting for the 4 months duration so that I can proceed with the 25% withdrawal which can also be done on their app. Please note that the Data Recapture requires the following
