Seems some ppl do not want to picture the far reaching consequences of this development. Mind you the ESL was never about the competition, this will be all about money, money, money to milk the game of football as much as possible.

Like a get rich quick system which condemns hardwork or due process, in this case it will be to hell with all the football teams who will never make the league.

The founding teams (12 or 15) will never be relegated irrespective of how they play.

The financial gap between elite teams and the unlucky ones will seriously affect the transfer market. Football will be all about money going forward which will breed more corruption, eliminate competition, ensure that these teams will dominate whatever is left of football going forward.

Mid table and struggling teams will have to fold up as they will only be chasing shadows.

The thrill that comes within the domestic leagues and UEFA competitions will no longer be there or here.

Why will anyone want to watch these teams play each other week in week out? What about longevity? The excitement that comes with big teams from different leagues playing each other once in a while?

Yes surely, viewers will be thrilled but after 2, 3 years it becomes repetitive, no more surprises, see finish, a money generating enterprise.

*Which is why the actual football fans - fans who support clubs in their local, fans who follow their teams not because they are popular, who have history with these teams, coaches, critics are strongly against it. Football should not just be about money, yes you need money to run these clubs but immediately it becomes solely about generating money kiss the game goodbye.

God. Bless you and your Generation.

UEFA should settle Thier beef with the clubs. Players are loyal to clubs who pay their bills . UEFA don't pay players.

UEFA is only being jealous and envious of these teams and what they stand to gain. They know they will be losing popularity and views if these big teams leave their worthless competition for a new, bigger one. These elite teams have been in enormous debts while playing in UEFA competitions with no adequate gain attached. Besides, all these are scare tactics. Empty threats. They never declined to play in your league or even their respective domestic leagues, so why witch-hunt them? Their loss jare.

This super league will come to stay and the clubs pulling out now will later come back. But football will change drastically. VAR is a child's play

The ESL should include African clubs if they want the game to be interesting.

Eyimba
Heartland
Rangers
Abia warriors.

This are the great and best clubs in Nigeria.

The ESL can never succeed without the supports of Ndigbo.

I urge the organizers to reach out to Ohanaeze Ndigbo for negotiations now or forget the ESL

You just dont want to see change. You are used to the existing format. You think they did not think it over and over and also reason along with you? They had brainstorm this for a long time before now, even Wenger said it long time before now. Truth is that, we will be seeing real soccer, devoid of winning at all cost, poor officiating and of course best of the best. The urge to win at all cost will no more be there, and then there will be less players injuries, flexible rules will also come into force. We need this change, let us see how it goes.

Football is all about entertaining the fans... Remove the fans from UEFA and they are nothing. If the fans wants the league to stay, it will, with or without UEFA.

...Moreover who is UEFA to determine who participates in a world cup or not... FIFA has now become a puppet to the ever corrupt and monopolistic UEFA.

Fans do not want it.
The very soul of football is suprise, unpredictability, upsets.

Already football has started to become really boring. Even Chelsea versus Liverpool...i prefer to just watch.highlights

These people are really fighting this "Super League" thing with everything they've got. Na American model of sports these guys just wan adopt.

In the US, all their top 4 national sporting leagues --NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL -- once you're there, you're there for life. You win all your games o, lose all your games o. No relegation, no demotion/promotion. I wonder what kinda system that is.

Make the American sports team owners carry their yeye biased system of sports comot. Make dem no come corrupt the global heartthrob of sports - Football.

It's greed, but also part of the reason why American leagues (regional sports) convert more in revenue and profit terms than soccer leagues, which are more global.
Today, no one cares about that 2000s ethic of football anymore. This was gonna come some day, somehow.

Let's see how it plays out tho.

For the whole 12 big teams to have unanimously agreed to leave UEFA like this... UEFA must have really cheated them too much or the 12 big teams must have been too greedy to revolt like this, coz personally I wonder why it's just 12 big teams and the other teams in champions league and europe didn't join them. Or was there no general coup d'etat meeting before
Re: Ceferin: "Players In The Super League Will Not Participate In The World Cup" by Mercisharelove(f): 3:12pm On Apr 19, 2021
Fans can't swallow it right now, they have to, they are no more needed in the stadium because of the current covid19 pandemic and to run football clubs has become increasingly difficult because of the low turnover of revenue and earnings, it's practically difficult, thinking clubs have to fashion out ways to create income and make money, instead of wasteful pre - seasons jasco jamboree.

If you know what I am sharing with you, you will understand perfectly, any outsider will criticise, but are they going to offer any solution to the financial downsizing? No, they, the big guns thought about this before coming out public.

And that's why the fans weren't carried along.

We are having a football war between the Elite clubs versus FIFA, UEFA, English FA, Premier league, La Liga, Serie A and many governing football association . Big money versus the Government, a lot of lawsuits coming up and many footballers will forced to choose playing for club or playing for country. The decision seems rash by big clubs and could be avoided if proper communication and negotiation were given on time and priority between the governing body and clubs . But at the end of the day , football is a business and you can blame the global pandemic because no fans on the stadium means no money. Big clubs have a huge budget to play their footballers, coaches, workers , medical personnel , government taxes and so many factors that goes behind the scene that the average person do not know. Stay tune and see what happens
