Youths in Ogun State have warned the self-acclaimed Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called “Sunday Igboho” and his supporters against bullying and attacking Yoruba monarchs over the agitation for the actualisation of the Yoruba nation.

There have been verbal attacks on the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, on social media for expressing their views on the call for Yoruba secession.

The latest attack was launched on the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi.

Igboho’s loyalists had last week accused the monarch of ordering the police to arrest and shoot participants of the awareness campaign organised by a group of Yoruba nation agitators.

The supporters in video clips posted on social media also accused the first-class monarch of collecting money from the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to disrupt the activities of the agitators.

But the youths, under the auspices of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Sagamu branch, Ogun State, noted that there is a need for Igboho to caution his followers against their continuous disregard of Yoruba traditional institutions.

They expressed their displeasure towards the attitude of Igboho and his supporters at a press conference and solidarity march held in Sagamu, in support of the Akarigbo.

The coordinator NYCN Sagamu, Idris Awoderu, described Igboho’s supporters as “real enemies of Yorubaland and children of no moral values” who engage in the blackmail of Yoruba monarchs “to get public sympathy for their naive and unprogressive agenda”.

‘Igboho’s allegations watery’

He also described the allegations by Igboho’s supporters on Akarigbo as not only “fake and untrue”, but also “watery and unfounded”.

He said, “These allegations are watery, unfounded and have no element of truth, as it is full of mischief and cheap propaganda coming from children of no moral values in order to get public sympathy for their naive and unprogressive agenda.

“We have no choice but to describe them as the real enemies of the Yoruba race.

“Let me also state categorically clear without mincing words that it is a cooked fallacy that Oba Akarigbo did not give the Yoruba nation agitators audience at his Palace: the truth is that Oba Adewale Ajayi was out of the country two weeks ago and yet to return.

“So, how can someone who is out of the town when you visit deny you audience or physical attention?

“It is an absolute lie of the century to say that the Akarigbo ordered the police to arrest or shoot the agitators or protesters. We challenge them to come out with proofs via the same medium.

“It is a great insult on the good people of Remoland for anyone to allege that our own Akarigbo collected money from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu or any man or a woman to disrupt the activities and the event of these naïve and ignorant blackmailers.

“In line with the above, I stand to say on behalf of the entire youth of Sagamu home and diaspora, that those who are behind this media campaigns and attacks against Kabiyesi Allayeluwa, the Alase Ikeji Orisa of Remoland, are the true bastards of Yorubaland.”

The group however demanded a public apology from Sunday Igboho over the comment by his loyalists.

The youths noted that Igboho should also publicly disassociate himself and his Yoruba nation agenda from those raising the allegations against the Akarigbo.

Sunday Ighoho and his supporters are fond of resorting to blackmailing other Yoruba personalities that don't support their methods with the accusation of being sponsored by politicians. They must understand that they cannot browbeat or intimidate other Yorubas into supporting them by force and through blackmail.

That's why its impossible for one person to be leading or trying to lead the whole Yoruba or trying to command a large fellow of Yoruba's without consultations, agreement and the probs and cons.

But once everyone agrees and put all hands on deck.

The Kiriji civil war that was fought between yoruba clans lasted for 16-years for the same reason. You can't just come from nowhere with a 'hero complex' and expect 40-million+ people to submit their brains to you because you feel you are fighting for them, when they are not zombies. No single person can command such loyalty by fiat, besides, such blind loyalty ends up breeding dictatorships. You have to consult, dialogue, compromise, and persuade others to accept your position, not blackmail them with propaganda, lies, and threats, just because they see things differently from you.

Cowardly Akarigbo is now claiming he travelled out of the country when he was there when Yoruba women paid him a visit a couple of weeks ago and kept them waiting outside for four hours with no show.

There’s only one true king in both Ijebu and Remoland and he has already given the struggle his blessings in Ijebu Ode. This counterfeit king doesn’t count. Same goes for Alake.

These 19th century Yoruba kings can’t be trusted. The true Yoruba kings are Ooni, Alaafin, Awujale and Olowo of Owo.

Oga, what are you saying The politicians that are selling you to fulanis do they consult or dialogue with you. How many of your senators or governors have taken any real action concerning what is going on in yorubaland Can a yoruba man try what the fulani criminals are doing in the north Do you want to be slave to anyone forever? Tinubu doesn't care if you or any member of your family is next victim of fulani atrocity yet he wants your vote because he is yoruba.

Majority of nigerians foolishly submit their freedom or destiny to very few people and will never question their action or inactions - but they will hope things will change. Now your parents have told you Nigeria will be better, their parents told them same thing - you are about to tell your children same thing who is fooling who?? Look at happenings in the north, look at Pantanmi and Gumi are those the kind of people you want your children to share the country with? Are you not seeing all the injustice around you in your so called useless Nigeria.

Do I agree with everything he is doing or stand for, ofcourse not and for the fact that he is or once a political thug, that do not make me his fan. But I base my judgement on message and not the messenger. I could relate with his message to a very large extent. Now tell us what your problem is with his message instead of looking at his personality.

I am yet to see any constructive criticism of his message except some fools that don't know what a good country should look like. You guys still don't get it. Any and every yoruba man is entitled not to even want to be part of Oduduwa Republic without getting threatened or intimidated by its proponents. That is the point some of you don't get. You are turning this into a 'us vs. them' thing, even amongst Yorubas, when in fact ALL yorubas are supposed to be treated as equal stakeholders in the agitation. And this will end up working against the whole agitation until you all accept that you don't have a monopoly of knowledge.

There are Yorubas in Benin Republic and Togo, and they are ok with where they are, even though some Yorubas here may feel they will be better off in one single country with other yorubas. But in the real world, we all can never think alike, that's the essence of freedom, democracy and independent thought.

The politicians you are vilifying for being bad, corrupt, and whatnot, they also once spoke like you are doing right now, condemning others before getting to the position themselves. And whether you believe it or not, in Oduduwa Republic there will still be corrupt politicians, there would also be opposition parties that will oppose the ruling party in power because it is human nature to disagree on positions and in principle, and no one deserves to be blackmailed for that.

Some clans may even later feel marginalized and decide they would be better off on their own, even after getting Oduduwa Republic. Yes, it can happen. Why? Again, because it is human nature. That desire for separation is what led to the creation of several states in every region in Nigeria today.

Or what if the Yorubas in Lagos decide to opt out of the Republic? Or if in a referendum some yoruba clans (or Muslims) decide not to be a part of the new country? Or you think that's farfetched? That can certainly happen if the hardline promoters continue acting like they alone know what's best for everyone else without taking other opinions into consideration.

Bottomline is, some of you guys should quit thinking your position is the only valid one. You can't force all Yorubas to think the same way through blackmail and threats, no matter how valid you may feel your position is. Kole ever work.

The bolded is the most important thing that is needed for the freedom of yoruba nation. Power belongs to the people let people see the reason why yoruba nation is the answer and they are doing their best in that regards.

If you think power will be grabbed on a platter of gold from the hands of the vampire currently holding Nigeria from progress, you have to think well. Speaking grammar will not do it, crying to the United Nation will not do it only action will do it. United nation will just be looking at you guys until you guys take the bull by the horn yourself, it is wishful thinking to imagine UN will come and divide or make referendum happens. Nigeria is a sovereign nation and they will respect that only when they see chaos they can meddle.

Now am I preaching for a war? Hello no, but we have to be prepared for everything to get our freedom. The America and Europe all of you want to run to were built on the blood of some patriots. But black man just want to have sex and populate everywhere even if his freedom his taken away from him, just give him sex that is his only concern. Freedom is worth dieing for if you ask me. What is the difference between an average nigerian and a dead man? The next you will tell me is that an average nigerian has hope - smh. Where is the hope? The same hope that has been stolen by politicians. Some of you don't know the crises Nigeria is into look at the sovereign debt, look at security and tell me what you see.

You guys should stop thinking that UN will come and help you by blowing grammar. Even in Europe it won't happen people have to grab power first by civility and second by force and this is most common method use anywhere in the world.

The people ruling Nigeria are animals very uncivilized and don't know what human right is. You saw how they killed End Sars protesters what did UN do They returned your grammar back to you by just condemning the act and that is all, Buhari still enters London thereafter.

Oga man up and be prepared for anything for your freedom.

Exactly.
I am in support of Oduduwa, but Majority carry the vote.
Its not a must I impose my knowledge or agitation on everyone, No Yoruba man is an island of knowledge and One person cannot be the sole final decision maker for all Yoruba's.

Even in the Olden days.
There are checks and balances in the palace.
The King doesn't have the final authority on some matters except if it has been widely consulted and agreed upon by the Chiefs, Ogbonnis etc.

Even the Balogun cannot go to war without consultations and cannot go to war alone without approvals.

In All I'm in support for whatever is best for my People.
Everyone cannot think the same way, reason why we go for the one that will benefit us.

Thinking one way reasoning is bad for us.

Your point is noted. But in a democratic setting, it’s always about what the majority want.

They’re doing the normal consultations but when a king refuses to meet them because he has taken money from a corrupt politician who’s greedy enough to think his ambition is greater than the welfare of the average Yoruba, what do you want them to do? They went there to meet him but he refused to meet them. Akarigbo is a coward.

No king in Yorubaland has the right to speak for the people without consulting the representatives of the people (chiefs) and that’s Alake’s crime for coming to support one Nigeria. Who gave him the power to speak for the people?

When the referendum is done, we shall know who the majority is. Yoruba nation is bigger than one man’s greedy political ambition. He has already turned Lagos to his private estate. What else does he want?
