I do not think any billionaire lives in Awka. I cannot see any place worth living by a billionaire yet. I am only hopeful that the AMC will attract them.
It is a shame that all these years, there is no high end organised area for billionaire cribs to be built in Awka. Could it be that we Anambrarians build our cribs in the our various villages and mind you most of the billionaires do not have their businesses in Anambra state.

The airport project

Part of the reason I say God bless Willie Obiano is not that he built an airport. Obiano stands out in his belief that what is worth doing, is worth doing well. I think only Dave Umahi is the southeast governor that has the same mindset and mentality of doing high-quality projects.

When Obiano redesigned the Agulu Lake hotel and got Golden Tulip to manage it, I knew Anambra was lucky to have someone who believed that standard hotels and projects should not be something you only see in Abuja and Lagos! Anambra also deserves high-quality facilities.
Apart from the poor federal allocation to the southeast region, part of what made the southeast government project look so mediocre is the pauperized mindset of its governors to always build the shoddiest of projects. That Obiano decided to build something world-class is the reason I praise him so much for this airport project and posterity will judge him kindly.

If this airport was built by a typical southeast governor, he would combine the control tower and the terminal building into these types of typical airport designs in the picture below that dot all over Africa. Then he would tell us that he did the mediocre airport project to save the state N1 billion naira. When he could have done the state better service by diligently managing the N1 billion naira to invest into a critical state project to meet a world-class quality. Just look at the Onitsha mall and compare it to the Ebonyi mall in Abakaliki or Enugu mall, and you will understand what I mean by a pauperized mindset of building the shoddiest stuff just for the sake of building something called a mall. But when they want to build their own personal malls, you will suddenly realize that they indeed know how to build high-quality projects. That Obiano rejected that pauperized philosophy of giving the worst low-quality projects to Anambra is the reason i applaud him so much!

You are a lion for methodically exposing the lies of the owl! I love how you dealt with the owl to expose his hypocrisy with facts and figures each time he came here with fake news and distorted stories why the airport could not be completed by Obiano, and other blah blah blah.....

Stop spewing nonsense on this thread. Poverty rate in Anambra is the lowest in SE, that means there are more millionnaires and billionaires resident in the state. Most of these businessmen in Onitsha are billionaires and most are either living in high end areas of Onitsha or Awka. Maybe you think being a billionaire means living in heaven. If there is anywhere billionaires are living in SE, it is Anambra. Watch these two videos of neighbourhoods in Awka and Onitsha, they can compete with anywhere in Lagos or Abuja where you think billionaires are only living. As for Awka Millennium city, it is not just the best neighbourhood in SE but Nigeria with exception of few areas in Abuja

Nwanne you are very correct, Obiano is a model for SE. Anambra international airport is the international gateway to the eastern Nigeria. Kudos to Obiano

With the longest runway in Nigeria aside MMIA, and tallest control tower building in Nigeria, Anambra international airport is the international gateway to the eastern Nigeria

Great pace of work so far at the airport... From what we can see here commissioning of the airport in May is highly feasible. I hope the airport equipment needed are already on ground awaiting installation.

And for our International Conference Centre in the city of Awka, I hope the pace of work is equally as fast as this becuase I would wish APGA to use that facility to host their Awka mega rally/campaign later in the year, it will go a long way in convincing the masses the more.

I am surprised that a lot of umu Anambra are still ignorant about these legacy projects ongoing in the state, some will say it's not possible that's all a propaganda that even the pictures being brandished aren't from Anambra, I laugh.

Obiano speaks on Anambra International Airport during presentation of his seven years in office book.

The terminal has 36 shops.
2 in 1 jet bridges (each jet bridge can services 2 aircrafts), the termac can comfortably accommodate 11 Airbus A380. The tower is 11floor with fire fighting equipment, 3700m runway with 1000m on each end of the runway making a total of 5700m or 5.7km.
The airport also has enough space for future development and expansion.

Kudos to obiano

5.7km? Are you sure that figure is correct? Cos that will make it the longest runway in the world by a good margin.

Modified
Ok, I guess the main runway is 3.7km only

O boy, the run way is even more than 5.7 km. They just gave it that conservative estimate. The airport is very, very large. I am sure you didn't see Umueri natives crying the other day that their land has finished because of the airport.

I can say for sure that Umahi's mall will outclass Obiano's. When it comes to standard and quality of projects, no governor in the Nigeria (not just SE) comes close
