This promise of asylum from the UK government has to be consumed with a pinch of salt.

It could be a ploy by the UK government to make IPOB docile, and to keep you from applying self-defence, which is enshrined in UN documents.

Just monitor this offer for a few more days, and if IPOB feels this "good gesture" from the British government is tying IPOB's hands behind its back, then reject the offer and carry on with the way you have been going about your stuff.

The UK government may have offered this asylum so that in the future, if the Fulani army of Nigeria kills IPOB members or rape their women, IPOB will feel constrained to take retaliatory action, because IPOB may not want to be seen as a militant group, so as to continue to be seen as a peaceful group, deserving of the current asylum offer.
The Fulani govenment of Nigeria will effectively be blackmailing IPOB, whenever IPOB applies self-defence, when Buhari's rats kill IPOB members.

IPOB should keep an eye on this concern.

But the same asylum grant is currently under review... FG might have submitted some facts to nail Ipob members considering the unrest in some part of SE

I was thinking the same thing. They want to weaken the struggle. They have seen that IPOB is planning on taking up arms through the recent alliance with Ambazonia

So they quickly decided to play the Asylum card to neutralize the strike force.

But we are 10 steps ahead of them

Also know that IPOB rejected the Asylum offer. What we want is referendum. When you talk of some facts. Your Zoo government got no facts. Each time there's unrest in our region na Zoo government always first find trouble.

MASSOB is not keen on the offer and rejected it yesterday.

IPOB has already made it clear they are more interested in a referendum, so basically there is no good news for you.

I know Britain is probably even reviewing it because both IPOB and MASSOB did not come rushing to accept the offer, as Britain expected.

Mr, shut up! You have to read first before rushing to comment. What the guy wrote is what every sane Biafran including Nnamdi Kanu has already said!

Back to OP, the thing about the asylum offer to IPOB is in the significance of the gesture and not in the actual implementation of it.

One irreducible advantage the gesture confers on IPoB is the recognition and endorsement of the Biafran movement by the British government. This alone is all IPOB needs. And to be honest, it will be tad foolish for anyone to think UK will just dish out visas to any filing of asylum by an IPOB member.

It is the significance of the gesture that made the Nigerian govt panicky, because in diplomatic circles Nigeria understands that it means a game over for it. It is also for this reason that made someone like me believe the asylum offer is the UK shifting alliance from Nigeria.

I think Britain is trying to protect her investment in the oil rich Biafra , an alliance between Amazonia and Biafra will spell doom for Nigeria which is the feeding bottle of the UK ....they don't want that to happen infact in months to come the UK high commissioner may invite some ipob to dialogue...imagine crisis from bakassi peninsular down to agbor in delta state , the price of crude will skyrocket

The only file being reviewed right now at the British embassy is the Pantami file.
