Two reportedly killed, Customs Vans Burnt as Gunmen allegedly attacked Security Checkpoints at Omagwa




Reports emanating from Ikwerre Local Government suggest gunmen have allegedly attacked a Military Checkpoint at Omagwa and reportedly beheaded two security agents.

Details of the attack are still sketchy but a security source informed our correspondent that it occured in the early hours of today.

Our source also alleged that the gunmen proceeded to burn huts and also attacked another Checkpoint manned by Customs personnel at Isiokpo Umuanwa, Byepass.

Security Vans were reportedly burnt during the attack.
Unconfirmed reports allege the gunmen made a futile attempt to gain entrance into the Ikwerre LGA Council Headquarter.

Calls and messages put through to the spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni have not been answered.
