Did you even spare a thought for the innocent women and children you are putting at risk? The innocent young men that will be picked up in raids against "unknown gunmen"?

What was previously bad in the SE will end up worse. Imagine what would happen to the multi billion naira hospitality industry in Imo if this violence is sustained. You think anyone can go to the markets with the sound of bomb-laden fighter jets over their heads?

You will do it again? The problem with you Nigerians is that you neither listen nor have empathy. For many years IBOP members had begged the Nigeria’s security to stop killing them just for carrying flags and for marching peacefully on the streets, so as not to push them to taking up arms. But Nigerians derided them, called them chest beaters and shouted, “Kill them all”. Now this same group is begging the same Nigeria’s security to stop militarisation of the Igboland and to stop torture and extrajudicial killings of the Igbo, to avoid another civil war. Once more, Nigerians are rejoicing and thinking that any war will be restricted to Igboland like it was in 1967. What these heartless Nigerians don’t understand is that there is nothing stopping the UGM from opening fire on people on busy streets in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Kaduna as a deterrent to the killings in Igboland. What these fools don’t understand is that there is no reason why Eko Bridge in Lagos may not be blown to rubbles or NNPC headquarters in Abuja set ablaze as a deterrent to destructions in Igboland, that deterrence is how the modern warfare is fought. It is called Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD).
Stop ranting, by the time we turn igbo land to Borno, you all will be begging for peace, we've once again started the war in your door steps

At the end of the Biafra - Nigeria war in 1970, the Biafrans had the option to pivot towards a guerrilla warfare but were convinced not to do so after General Effiong reached sundry agreements with the Nigerian State.
Those agreements over the years have been thrown into the gutters by the federal government as an apartheid policy of containment was vigorously implemented..
It's now starting to look like the chickens have come home to roost..
All these loss of lives and property are totally avoidable if this country was not perenially visited with an avalanche of highly polarizing rulers desperate to corner every thing for themselves and their kinsmen..
You know your history. Many people don't even know about this.

The question is why Nnamdi Kanu is so focused on Imo state? Why is he not creating this chaos in Abia state? If this is how he wants to get Biafra, by attracting war to south east, then his method is dead on arrival.

[[s]quote author=seborrhic post=101107663] I had always feared this mayhem would reach Rivers because Wike handled that Oyigbo crisis very poorly with massacre, torture and rape of innocent civilians, just because they identified or supported IPOB or even just being ethnically alligned with IPOB.
He had earlier encouraged and supported the use of excessive force on IPOB when they were still demonstrating during the early stages of the movement while kanu was still in Nigeria.
This is now a test of Wike's gangster like governance.
I fear, like many brash touts,he may fail this test by soon coming out ranting, threatening and supporting the security forces to invade Ikwerre and arrest anyone they even remotely suspect has any affiliation to ESN or IPOB.
It may backfire.
What governors of affected States in the SE and SS should realize is that IPOB and/ESN is not a rag tag group of armed men,but a growing militia with increasingly growing support to modernize the armed wing.
Each action now taken should be well thought out and geared towards winning minds of those who even if ethnically affiliated to IPOB do not necessarily agree with its modus operandi.
Any replica of the Oyigbo formula would just cause the loss of many more lives on both sides.

Nwokem you are not a true Anambra man.

So you conveniently forgot that it was the army and police that first attacked ESN in Orlu earlier on in the year?

ESN was minding its business, going after terrorist Fulani herders in eastern forests, until the Fulani army and police decided to commence killing these good ESN men.

And for your information, UGM are not ESN.

These are obvious signs of uncontrollable insecurities that may degenerate to civil war later.

Federal government headed by Buhari should swallow its pride and listen to all these regional agitations.

It is cheaper to make peace than to war. The consequences of war are so devastating and painful

No pics of soldier/police or military casualties and gullible Nigerians would continue to chat balls and believe the crap put out by the deceitful govt.

In this era of camera phones, how come the people around the checkpoints and stations never post live videos of the gunmen in action.

But during ENDSARS...the murder of ipob members 2-3 yrs ago and some boko haram attacks, we all saw videos and heard from the witnesses.

These phoney media companies should stop printing gibberish cos when it all leads to war there won't be any media outlet left.

All these phoney accusations will heighten the tensions and chaos that already exists in Nigeria

Niger Delta is watching on the sidelines and if this attack continues in the East, they will spring up once it spreads as they won't wait until the fake unknown gunmen come to them. They will defend their territory and their oil

Guerilla warfare is always the worst kind of war to win.

Since this menace started I hardly comment on threads because it's always hijacked by tribalist and proponents but you seem different.. To be sincere this is the concern..The governors might handle this very poor which will turn out to be a large fire that will engulf the region. Guerilla warfare is always the most difficult because people that are neutral might have reasons to be sympathetic to the insurgents and it will spell doom for security forces, I don't envy any security personnel now beside they are already overwhelmed, bandits in north, herdsmen in middle belt, boko haram in north and now ESN in the south..I have never heard of any fight attacked from different prongs that was successful. That's why the governors need to handle with care..I have never been so convinced of conflagration that will split the country like I am now.

Frankly if you go round the region and engage people you will understand why there should be a heightened concern about all these. I still hope it will be managed properly because to be sincere if it gets over the boiling point, everyone go hear am..

I really appreciate your point of view..Kudos

KingsleyWabote:

I think it's high time PMB gave a presidential order declaring a state of emergency all over the SE and other affected SS states. There should be full fledged war against IPOB terrorists without delay. Heavy artillery weapons should be rolled into the region and used against the insurgents, as well as constant air bombardments from NAF.

If Igbos say they are looking for war, then so be it!

In the next few weeks, we don't want to hear that there's genocide in "Biafraland." You guys asked for it, and very soon you'll get served.
