it's very unfortunate what Accountants face these days. they're forgetting the fact that we are the Back bone of any organization to stand the test of time. same thing happened to me & thank God I was able to overcome it. OP please apply wisdom here, check the organization body language, the agreement you had, is it written or verbal. I faced similar issues last year October. I was able to overcome this because my agreement was written agreement. I was posted from the HQ to a sub branch in Portharcourt. on arriving there, they didn't have a single accounting & book keeping records, their Audit process is nothing to write home about, I had to develop a system for them. this took me 3 months + and I still train the staff there. after every every, They have refused to meet with my demands. here's what I did - I made reference to the initial email on the agreement I had with them, stated all my accomplishments, what I've achieved for the Branch and what I intend doing before end of Q1. I politely requested they honor our attached agreement & looking forward to a rewarding career with them. honestly speaking, the response from them amazed me, they apologise for the delay, immediately passed my Bonuses and allowances, they even paid me for my target bonus I haven't met. sometimes, speaking up politely helps. I wish you well OP. 1 Like |

You have done much for the company which they supposed to compensate you adequately. You have combined your normal duties as an Accountant with the work of consultant. Since they refuse to appreciate your efforts, write them and let them know how you have gone outside your normal duties to safe them a lot of money. |

Employer are wicked, they use and drop tactics. So we emoyees must work and eat. We get paid immediately. I don't like future promise. I believe in cash basis. Redeeming one promise thru monthly salary |

wolesmile: Non. Like I said it's a very poor management system. I instituted the staff filing system. No appraisal document even when I designed one, it was neglected as the CEO prefers to appraise anyone he feels is performing. |
