that's why am pissed about this whole issue. For the first time in ages the East is starting to pull massive investors from Anambra to owerri to Aba ,and we might just loss it all.
The igbo have legitimate grievances that must be addressed but we don't have to burn and destroy the fabrics of our society to make a point. Militants,Boko Haram and Ambazonia are recent examples.
I wish ESn kept to the forest to engage herdsmen

I see another one has bought into the false narrative being sold by the very scumbags that planned and executed all these attacks!

IPOB and ESN are not responsible for the killing of security personnel in cold blood and the sacking of police stations and prisons!

6-lane pH road under construction

Is this the road that helped give Aba a bad name? Isn’t it a federal road?

This very important road that later became the shame of Aba. Refuse dumps and filthy stagnant water almost covered the entire stretch at some point!

I'm glad the road is now being fixed.

Could be these guys that fabricated those steel beams used for the Anambra int’l airport terminal. They did a good job there!

Looks like they did a good job on that road. Though i don’t know why they couldn’t add sidewalks and cover those ugly gutters! Nothing screams ‘3rd world’ quite like open gutters! They’re not only unsightly, but unsanitary too!

The state govt is more interested in their propaganda army having something to promote than making this city the standard bearer of Igbo cities.

Imagine a state govt that hypes 600 meter roads in a city of 1.5 million people.

Aba has less paved roads today than it did 40 years ago and that is shocking when it should have 4 or 5 times that amount. Lagos has many many more times the roads it did 40 years ago and in Aba we are still talking about the roads from 40 years ago which were actually good then. Obohia, Ohanku, Port Harcourt Road, Ngwa road, Eziukwu etc.

The city had only a small proportion of this population back then when these were the main roads. Extreme mediocrity

I hope so. It would be one of the greatest own goals in Nigerian history to have Igbo people destroy Igbo land and chase away investments and businesses in the name of fighting Fulani injustice.

Why do we keep saying Port Harcourt Road inside Aba is a federal road? Ive looked at the list of federal roads before and Port Harcourt - Enugu express way is a federal road not an inside city road like Port Harcourt road.

That road is a state road like Ngwa road and Faulks road

Also PH road should be the widest road in Aba if the state govt is serious. Like you can create a 4 lane boulevard in each direction making it a signature road

pH road, ikot ekpene road, aba- owerris road, pH- Enugu express are all federal roads .Abia state government is working on all the above mentioned roads apart from the enugu-ph express ( on which the osisioma Flyover is being built by the state government).
Fashola visited pH road some years back, and on that your he never denied it being a federal road, instead he candidly told the governor to build it as it wasn't on his agenda ( I will dig out some posts if it will make you feel better)

pH road was flagged off before 2015, the plan is to expand it to a dual carriage road ( 3 lane for each carriage). it also should have come with brt lanes and a flyover at the point it reaches the express. The slow pace of work on the express which has hindered the completion of the osisioma interchange made the proposed pH road flyover to be abandoned.
if the osisioma Flyover had been completed before Arab contractors got to osisioma junction, that flyover will have needed reconstruction as it will be perpetually flooded.Arab contractors raised the enugu-ph road by over 4 feet ( height) as the picture shows.
As it is, because of this modification very tall trailers can't attempt to drive under the flyover or the will get stuck.

meanwhile, pH road hasn't been completed because to build a lasting pH road,Ngwa road has to be fixed first-as it will collect water from the drains of pH road into the aba river. Also according to the world bank/Newmap design, an underground tunnel will be passing through pH road.
Am trying to get you to understand the problems with pH road.
As of today, Newmap has gotten to the ahiaohuru section of Ngwa road ( demolished some parts of the market last month). It means that we can get to see a new Ngwa road maybe in 6 months time then, reconstruction of pH road can begin in full force

They should have divided this road na. It's wide enough to be divided.

Emelogu road nears completion. Ngwa road terminates at Orji Uzor bridge, which in turn is the starting point of this road. So after completion you can access Ogbor hill from Ngwa Rd without need to pass waterside

Update from Okpu-Umuobo - Mgboko - Obingwa LG headquarters 25km rd construction .......

Any update about this particular
Seems like it's an infamous road in ABIA

All the same since it connects osisioma to obingwa
It should be of top priority
Especially with the massive Private housing scheme going around that side from (the Umuchichi axis) the Last Time I checked Abia

Drone shots of Aba.

They’re getting there, but need to make provision for trees when reconstructing those major 4-lane roads.

The road is going on in Ernest as at the last time I passed there. But it doesn't extend up to Umuichichi. It terminates at ama double, which is good from Latter days HQ to Union bank. Umuichichi road is in very bad condition lately
