Except they decide to weave a new wholesome plot for them.

MK story is not bland. It's the script writers and the director plus the producing company that makes it bland. MK is a goldmine that should be turned into a franchise.


A good storyline about the histories of the characters, with good and brutal fights, spanning into 4 to 5 parts, will unlock its true potentials.

Stupidity is repeating the same thing and expecting a different result. See this recent movie. All the characters were already fully formed. Apart from Cole, no other character arc development. In short, 9 of the tournaments have already been fought. No single journey into the lives of these fighters.


Give Disney MK and watch them change the movie into a blockbuster money-making franchise. Characters like Subzero, Raiden, Scorpion, Liu Kang etc., ought have have their own movies. So much stories to tell about them.

I've only watched the Raid 2, but then I remember watching this movie more than 10 times cause of the action. It's maddddd.

the raid: redemption leaves you begging for more... the raid 2 was more of dialogue and trying to tell a story which might make the beginning a bit boring but as the action kicked in towards the end, na no holds barred martial excellence till the the credit scene.
If you watch and enjoyed the raid redemption you might enjoy merantau too.

And I prefer the simplicity of all the characters, I don't need to know toomuch back story on all these fighters before I can get behind them or get invested in them..I'm only here for the violence and gore and that's exactly what was delivered...R-rated bliss

MK is just same 'ol, same 'ol. In 5 years time, they will produce another MK movie, add 2 new characters, they'd fight in tournament and it'd be over. In 10 years, same process is repeated. Wash, rinse, repeat. They need to spice it up. Add some flavour to it instead of repeating same thing all the time.

Yes, Walt Disney does wash, rinse and repeat, but before they'd do it to MK, they must have brought new ideas and used the new ideas to revitalize the franchise and after many years later, use the wash, rinse and repeat to further milk the viewers.
