Some of our past players we are praising to high heaven's today, if they were playing in this generation and with the stats they had then mostly for their club sides, there is no way most of them would have been invited to the SE.
I just checked Aghahowa stats, even when he was proclaimed hot at shahktar Donesk, he scored only 40+ goals in 7 seasons with them and scored none when he played about 20 games for Wigan. Aghahowa have about 50 goals in his club career playing in Europe that spanned more than 10 years.

Even the stats martins had then, there is no way he would have been a starter in this current SE, he will be invited to this current SE simply because of his talent, not because he is worth it with his goalscoring prowess.
The only striker whose stats will still stand tall today is Yakubu.

So going by club stats, Osimhen will start in the SE from 2000 to now.
Iheanacho, Simy, Moffi and Onuachu will make all the teams...club stats wise
Bros remember say dem no Dey too score goals for club sides then like now

You should not have used osimhen stats as an example ,his stats is not too impressive for now remember

Authoritative Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has compared Super Eagles strikers Victor Osimhen and ‘Simy’ Nwankwo.

‘Simy’ has netted 19 goals for bottom club Crotone this season in Serie A, while Osimhen has seven goals.

Gazetta dello Sport reported that ‘Simy’, who it described as “Giant of the Goal” has so far outshone compatriot Osimhen.

“The giant of Crotone has done better than his compatriot Osimhen, star of Napoli and record signing last summer for 70 million Euros,” reported the newspaper.

Nwankwo is one the leading Nigerian scorer in Serie A with 29 goals past the former record holder Obafemi Martins.

His goals this season has already got Genoa and Sampdoria to renew local rivalry in the race to sign him this summer.

Crotone paid 800,000 Euros for him, but could now pocket as much as eight million Euros thanks to his red-hot form.

Former England international, John Fashanu has admonished Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr to work with the current crop of players in his disposal than to recall Odion Ighalo to the senior national team.

Ighalo retired from the Super Eagles after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where he finished as the top scorer of the competition.

Though reports in the media have suggested that Ighalo could be recalled to the Super Eagles, however, Fashanu has kicked against such a move by the German tactician.

In an interview with an online media, Fashanu stated that recalling Ighalo back to the team may be to the disadvantage of the younger players regardless of his experience.

“The only thing Ighalo has to offer to the national team is his experience, it is not his ability because there are players who are far better than him and we know that.

“If Rohr wants to bring him in because he stabilises the squad, it is fine. I remember when I was in my 30s and the manager kept bringing me back, it wasn’t because I was a great player but I gave the team confidence. And that might also be the reason why Rohr wants to bring him back but other than that his time is gone.

“Ighalo is in his 30s and in Nigeria we have fantastic prospects that are fighting to get that spot but not all of them can make the squad.

‘If you keep playing the older players it is at the detriment of the younger players. It is high time we start seeing 17, 18-year-old geniuses in the national team. “Where there is no talent the coach may consider bringing him back but there are so many talents and it would be very wrong to bring him back at this stage.”

Firstly, Osimhen stats has been impressive, for both clubs and countries, also with the U17.
At wolfsburg he wasn't given game time, he went to Belgium and did awesomely well, then he went to France and still did well for lille. At Napoli this season, he has scored 7 league goals despite his long time lay off through injuries and covid and I bet you, if Napoli gets an attacking coach next season since Gattuso will be stepping down, Osimhen can score 20 league goals next season...Simy has scored 19 already this season.

And I also won't agree with you that players hardly score lot of goals then, they did, our players were not just good enough with goalscoring.
There were Andy cole, Saha, Nisterool, Andy Johnson of Crystal palace, Hesky, Pablo Angel of Aston Villa and others, if you go to spain you will see Diego Tristan, Morientes, Forlan for villarreal, etc. Our strikers were not just good enough with goalscoring

Basically you missed the point, the reason why brought up the career goals and all that stuff? was simple, to point out what he does as a lone striker. well, doesn't feel too bad to be misunderstood
Has he been playing as a CMF this seasonhuh Plus that has nothing to do with man city buying Iheanacho back. It was just a simple discussion

Sir..I have seen a more ridiculous penalty call than this . Moreso, there was a contact . Sadly, we are in an era where even a pat at the back in the penalty box can earn a player a penalty.

Imagine, Even Ekoku that was banging in goals in the EPL was a bench warmer in the SE. He can only convince those born after 2003 with such assertions. The 90s squad was one of the strongest SE squads and they would have achieved a lot more had it not been for Sani Abacha's madness
Exactly!

Bro, you don't need to argue with them. A 90s team that shocked the world and at some point were ranked the 5th best team on the FIFA ranking something it will take a long time for these current players to achieve, like one said he watched them on video cassettes and some clips from youtube so he is an expert.

Reading comprehension is fundamental. No one said that the present super eagles is better than 1990's even though I think they have the potential to surpass 90's team. Our argument, is simply that ndidi and osimehn will make 1990's until present SE team. It stand valid

You are the one that lacks comprehension, until either players achieve what their counterparts achieved with the SE in the 90s in the positions they played in, feel free to keep your opinions to yourself, you shift goal posts to support your argument when it suits you.

I am not taking anything away from our current super eagles players ,but those days goals are not many in football especially from Africans

Even the great George Weah didn’t really average 1 goal in every 2 games

So many people here are used to analyze football wrongly
