When I got employed at my work place, I was the 4th black person employed in Engineering out of probably over 1000 technical staff. I am proud to say that in the last two years, I have helped two other blacks (a 23 year old nigerian and a 42 year old Jamaican with a wife and 3 kids into the company). Both jobs are over $100k per annum. I will keep ensuring diversity and inclusion is promoted in recruitment.

The 23 year old guy has a dinstinction in electrical engineering from a local Canadian college. The Jamaican has an electrical engineering degree from back home and worked in telecoms before migrating to Canada and worked mostly low wage jobs prior to been offered employment. If this is socialism to some, then so be it. I like that kind of socialism that helps me to pull others up.

Keep different tribes in a place, live them for one hour to communicate with themselves and come back. You will see that igbo man is around other igbo and yoruba man will be around other yoruba men. Those same people abroad will be together regardless of their tribes because they are in a foreign land. Now they see themselves as Nigerians.

My point is that where that are obvious or unconcious bias, discrimination, or racism (both in the face and subtle) e.t.c., that is what needs to be reduced. While all these can't be completely eradicated, people can work towards ensuring they co-exist peacefully.

I am sure you know that freedom right movements help get rid of Jim Crow laws in the US, just as freedom protests all around the world helped get rid of Apartheid in South Africa.

Better to do something and fail at it than not even try at all.It's always a work in progress. Progress may be slow, but it's surely getting better.

now its not as acceptable as it used to be even though in some places they still do
