We don't need the military or the police to mount any road block in any part Igbo land because we are not at war. The North are the people that need those tight and numerous road blocks because they are being ravaged by Insecurities. Igbo land isn't at war and we don't need road blocks. All they do here is to extort the poor masses. Enough is enough |

Useless Zoo Police and Army. This is what happens when you push people to the wall, but in the Zoo Police and Army case is that they shoot and kill us cos the hate they have for an Igbo blood. Now that unknown gunmen have same AK47 as you do, why not come out Na, Ndi Nzuzu

We were begging them to stop extorting us and they were grandstanding. Ala Igbo is not a war zone. Fulani security men should not lay siege on our land. Leave our roads. If ESN is gonna kill us let them kill us. I will die a happy man knowing my fellow Igbo man killed me than that an almajiri from Sokoto who is looking to claim my ancestral land butchered me. Leave our roads, ndi ala! |

| Re: Police Desert Streets In South East by NwaAro: 10:41am On May 02, 2021 |
Unfortunately this is the only language THEY understand, for long the major roads and highways in the East have been hot spots for all forms of extortion, harassments and even killings of our people by those trigger-happy demagogues in uniforms, I nearly lost an uncle of mine to those bastards two years ago when be refused to play ball to their extortion demands while traveling to the village, the useless Aboki soldier actually cocked his rifle and threatened to shoot my uncle, you can imagine the terror we experienced that day as we feared the worst ... now they will think twice before acting anyhow or even as much as use the East as their ticket meal to retirement benefits. God bless ESN God bless Alaigbo RIP commander Ikonso |

People were crying to high heavens about the brutality, extortion and killings carried out by police men. Literally there are every checkpoint per 100 meters in all the roads of the southeast, they upgraded from collection of 50 naira to 100 naira and now it is non negotiable 200 naira for transport drivers, higher amounts for privates. Why would the police that's supposed to protect you be the one killing you? 9f you have a police case, those criminals will milk you dry even when you are the reporter of the accused, the accused is worse off. If this is what would make them to reform the police then unknown gunmen is welcome. |

Igbochief001:Gbam! the attached caricature picture changed my orientation totally. As security men leave the roads, Fulani herdsmen will follow suit too. Those guys gave cover for us to be maimed and extorted. Too bad.

Lol I came down East to spend few moments and go back to Abuja, but I don't think I'm going back o. Here is actually more conducive for me now. My work involves a lot of writing, so I carry lappy. It wasn't as before where I go de calculate how I will deal with the stupid police wahala on top my gwulagwula laptop. I just read the source and laughed. Dailytrust is the most untrustworthy news media in Nigeria. I think it's run by those boys that write nonsense fake news on blogs and Facebook. |

Funny coming from reporters and concerned citizens that never said anything on extortions and harassments on Eastern roads by security operatives. Imagine a situation where you can see the next two check points from one check point. A situation where a police officer will tell you openly "I will shoot you and nothing will happen" and then delay you by seizing your papers because you are driving a new car and refused to part with money during stop and search... A situation where a journey of 1hr is almost 3 hrs because of traffic and holdups caused by police and yet there is still killings and kidnappings going on a daily basis on the same highways.. Now road free like airport runway, even the criminals re scared to come out cos nobody knows who is who... Everybody just de respect theirsef jejely. |
