The umbrella body of judiciary workers in Nigeria, the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), had on April 1, 2021, directed its members across the country to shut down all courts on Tuesday, April 6, a directive that has since crippled both court proceedings and commercial activities within the courts’ premises.

The effects were not seriously felt at the beginning. Judicial workers, businesses, and individuals all have stories to tell.

For example,

A lawyer will have no one to represent in the courts, hence NO PAYMENT.
A lawyer narrated how he was frustrated by the daily calls from the family of his clients, currently being remanded at the correctional centre for a minor offence.
He said that the court had granted them bail, which they were unable to perfect and this landed them in the correctional center before the judiciary embarked on strike.
He further said that the matter has been settled between the nominal complainant, but as a result of the strike, the correctional service officers could not produce the accused.

Similarly, a friend had a minor issue that led to the suspension of his BUSINESS BANK ACCOUNT. The matter had been resolved but the bank needs a court order to FREE the ACCOUNT. Now he has millions of naira trapped, injuring his business badly.

Unfortunately, the end seems not to be near.

It hasn't affected me yet and I pray it doesnt. Judicial workers should be reasonable for once and return back to their duty posts. Can't they make sacrifices for our country? Too much greed everywhere.

She was called by someone on her phone.
A female friend was scammed last week Friday to transfer some amount of money to the tune of 35k, she even borrowed 4k from her boss to complete it. After like an hour she now come back to her senses and went to the bank straight to Lodge complain, for God so good, the scammer account hasn't complete his info, and he can't withdrawal the money, but my friend was told to High Court to collect a one kind form, the bank promised to withhold the account for any transaction. We are waiting for the judicial workers to resume now.
Her first salary...

Did you really type this?
A whole arm of government is shutdown and you say you don't care. You won't be patriotic enough if your bias is only with the executive, all three arms matter pretty much, I believe you know that.
Uncountable losses are recorded daily as a result of this strike, and by extension it affects every sector/section of this country's national life, the earlier we stopped being indifferent on most issues yet very concerned only about one the better for us.
