I don't think you understand what greed is in relation to changing jobs based on experience level. Again, do you understand that as humans, naturally we have insatiable wants/taste? Are you telling me you prefer to remain at the same level in life? Are you telling me you don't feel you are too productive to be at the current level you are hence deserve better?. What are your reasons for applying to NCDMB knowing it's highly competitive when you have an alternative route to look for ministry jobs?
Stop allowing the fact that you've been in the street for long affect your reasoning. Emotion is taking the larger part of you
Do you think if today I'm working in NCDMB and I have a UN offer of an International recruit (Professional) I won't move there despite i can't go past 7 seven years with the UN?
Please change your way thinking. Stop tagging such people as being greedy. It's just career advancement.
nasiest:
Anybody body that wants to leave CBN or NNPC for a higher paying agency is doing that out of greed.
All what you're saying is just english language and motivational quotes.

And yes I'm not a fresh a graduate because I have been in this street fora while now.

He never said it's not the same nnah....
Probably, that's their reference number for recruitment process.... Or was that the same address for PTDF
Reference number is for specific tracking.
They cannot use the same number for different organization.
It's never done so in official communication.

Na who get career naim de advance am o...lol...

But on a more serious note, greed isn't the only reason why people change jobs... There are other reasons, for instance,

1. JOB SATISFACTION
No matter how much an engineer is earning in a bank, as long as it isn't what he always wanted to do, if he sees an engineering opportunity with almost the same offer, he would take it immediately.

2. JOB SECURITY
Some persons work with some particular organisations, not because of the pay, but because there is no fear of losing their jobs, just like that, and that's the reason why a friend of mine who is working with Exxonmobil currently also applied for this NCDMB as an experienced hire..

3. CAREER ADVANCEMENT
Lol... This one has been overflogged but i would still shed some more light on it ... Assuming you work in an organisation where due to your qualifications, age, date of employment or whatever reasons, you can't grow beyond a particular level, and you get an offer in another firm where you would be able to get to that level that you wished to get to, won't you take up that offer??

4. BETTER WORKING CONDITIONS
A relation recently left a job paying him approximately 280k/month for a job paying him 240k/month, and when asked why, he said its due to the working conditions of the former place. The former place required him to be at the office Monday to Friday, and then also work from home on Saturdays and Sundays, but the new place requires just the normal Monday to Friday, and that's what he opted for.

5. BETTER PAY
It's not necessarily due to greed, but due to an increase in responsibility. From economics we are made to understand that the more you earn, the more your needs/wants/responsibilities increases and so inorder to accommodate the ever increasing responsibilities, you would also need to have an ever increasing source of income. Or would you say it's greed that would make you to have a side hustle, or a BTC wallet, even though you already have a job, no matter how much the pay is??

My opinion though..

How’s switching jobs being greedy ?? Like, I don’t get it one bit. Let’s even assume it’s for the economics, what’s wrong with that please? how’s that being greedy? What’s wrong with getting paid better for solving a problem ? So one should get choked up on bills and financial commitments in order to appear “patriotic”. And, What if this job, aside the better reward, aligns with his long term goals? He should give all that up? This job is not endsars palliative sir, he worked for it.

And, of course, this has nothing to do with patriotism, not even remotely.

grin grin

speak all the English you want to speak in the world

it all boils down to pure greed.

I have to agree with this Nasiest guy, there's not much difference between the mentioned agencies.

finally grin anybody that leaves CBN is really short sighted.

the day Oil fold/pack up all these oil related agencies revenue will suffer (can you confidently hit your chest and say oil will be king in the next 20 years ?....lol)

no matter how bad the economy of any nation is suffering, it's central bank is always the least affected ( look at countries like Zambia and zimbabwe)

grin grin

una even get mind to compare this low budget NNPC ( NCMDB) to CBN

Talking about career advancement, if you actually thinks someone who works in NCDMB would have a higher career growth or a better career than one who works in CBN then your own definition of career growth is money. Lol

I'm talking about CBN,

its not any financial institution, it is the country's national bank.

your example is way off.

point of correction no country's Central bank can be crippled by Crypto currency. it's just a matter of many governments central bank will adopt their own crypto currency (China has successfully done theirs)

the fact that coal it's still in bussiness doesn't make it economically viable.

Poland is the major producer of coal and they have had major set backs financially because coal is no longer economically viable.

kindly explain how the technology to capture carbon will be the killer ?

Aramaco, shell and BP are investing majorly into renewables
other companies are low key doing the same.

Russia, Saudi and Us that are producing above 10 million barrels per day are investing in renewables.

oil in particular is going experience a decrease in value.
gas is our only option.
don't forget gas is cheap and except it's produced in very large quantities there wouldn't be much profit.

don't play yourself.

Actually, not that you're wrong... you have a very good point.. its a productive debate amongst experts only the future will determine.

I only grinned with this statement below...smiles.....like as if oil will just pack up...maybe you're right or we are both right...
Personally, Im just carefully of the media in all these...And make a personal rational judgement in all these fuss on renewables as I'm worried about their valuation...

Honestly boss, you know what's up. CBN na just name, pay is only decent. I've worked closely with organisation for a while, most of them depend on soft loans. Just like with other public agencies, only when you get to top management level (or work with HQ) before you begin to really enjoy the job. There are many organisations better than CBN.
Bills will eventually choke you unless you're comfortable living a very conservative life.

It's like you people don't know how much CBN pays. Plus that thing you call soft loans is actually hard loan abeg. I know someone who works there. What he once did with money within 6 months shocked me.

It will help reduce carbon footprints, oil and gas would then be declared safe as the main push for renewables has been because of climate change.
