What do you think about yahoo yahoo that is becoming the order of the day amongst our youths?

A good number of Yahoo boys are using their money to do reasonable things nowadays, gone are the days of just buying cars, partying, going on shopping sprees etc. While some scam then go legit and abandon scamming

Do they really pay for what they do or do they go scott free after scamming people?

OR

Is it just about morals?

Nairalanders let's settle this matter here

What's your take?

Show me any yahoo boy that has sense. I have rolled with abt 10 diff ones. Age 40 upwards get one or two investments as fronts. While age 18 to 30 all got cars with no investment, their highest investment is some wacky music or useless boring skits .I have never seen a yahooboy that saw 6million naira and quickly travelled abroad, they so fast to rush a lexus once they see 4m.

You're damn right but they don't take the money forcefully from anyone, scammers only scam fools. So to he scammed it means you're mentally dumber than the one dumbing you unless he uses jazz which is very uncommon.

The first step to not getting defrauded is to not be greedy.

No matter how they justify it and sugar coat it.
Cyber crime is a No for me.
They said they are collecting d money white stole from their forefathers. Did their forefathers ask them to fight for them?
Why will som1 in his right sence suffer a child Cus of his/ her parent wrong?
The funny part is dat not only the white are been scammed, them de scam their fellow guys with legit hustle.

The reality of this is some ladies can kill for G guys.

How can you build wealth on the expense of other people life.
Is there any difference between Nigeria govt and yahoo guys?

It is a crime so we shouldn't support it. Remember no sin goes unpublished.

It is a crime but it is being justified by the situation in the country, it takes smarts and a good iq to wit and defraud someone giving that the whole world knows about scams and thier guard is up. But still nigerians are jumping head first into it, when you see how boys who you use to ask to keep the change after you send them on errands are now pulling up your street with a 2017 gwag. If you are a criminal naturally it won't take long for you to find a way for yourself.

Let's keep sentiments aside, yahoo has actually changed the destiny of many families who would never ever know wealth otherwise, for how long is what is left to be debated. I am a strong advocate against yahoo. But ultimately nobody cares if you don't have it so get it how you can.

Yahoo is going to be a big problem in the nearest future unless the world figures out a way to curb it. Note all countries have yahoo guys so it is a global problem now.

Yahoo no good but has prevented a lot in the society, illiterates are the ones indulged in armed robbery, kidnaping & terrorism while intelligent ones are using Yahoo to make ends meet. The government has failed woefully and as long as graduates keep pouring out yearly there's no end in sight for any of these crimes. Funny enough,my project study was Incidence Of Cyber Crime, the rate was low at the time but now it seems one in 5 youths are in to the Yahoo system. The government are not rehabilitating the ones arrested so after the arrest, they're still going back to what they know best. There's no alternative and religion is not helping matters, few of our youths are hardcore religious that's why a lot has resorted to seeking the help of traditionalist.
Now imagine what the crime rate would be if there's no Yahoo. The armed robbery, kidnaping and terrorism. Learnt Boko boys was dollin out 20k to gain followers the other day. It's a shame.

Everyone pays for their sins. There is no benefit in being a thief. You either pay for it on earth or in hell.

It's bad for any economy. I have been scammed severally by my fellow Nigerians on the cyber space, it's not because of greed but due to trust and love for my brothers but it was used against me.
I have lost life changing opportunities due to stereotypic sentiments that Nigerians are scammers.
The fan base of CyberCrime is now much especially in Delta State where I reside, but it's funny how some people try to defend it by saying "there are no jobs", "the governments are the major thieves", "we are returning our father's stolen wealth/unpaid debts".
Laws should be made to persecute any criminal be it Politician or Commoner live on Nigeria National TV by hanging or manslaughter.
CyberCrime kills it victims at same pace as covid-19, it shouldn't be appraised.

You're right most times boys betray trusts by scamming those who trusted them. Scamming fellow Africans is the worst part of this Cybercrime; common! the poverty in Africa is too much, then someone sits down scamming some struggling in Africans. It's hurtful cry
