Pls I would like to know if US embassy is opened for applications now I m willing to apply again... I applied last year with my child but was denied with no reason that was b4 d pandemic.....

I also would like to ask do I need to take my child again with me to the embassy because he already has a British passport now... Is there a need for him to apply or he does not need a visa to travel to US and me what are my chances of getting a visa this time if I take my child along with his British passport?

Just confused....

A British national doesn't need a visa to come to the US unless they had criminal convictions in the past. You don't need to take your child to the embassy, he can stay in the US for 90 days with out requiring a visa.

[quote author=Fikky1234 post=101135312]You can log in repeatedly but you can’t refresh repeatedly I think!! So is better you log out and log in again, the earliest date you can see now is Abuja it is well.

Are you absolutely sure, those guys already have a lot of registered people and will love to decongest at any cost

Sir/Ma,
If this is your reason for wanting to visit the US. I will humbly advise you to tell your sponsor to send the sponsorship money to you so that you can use it to setup a business or enjoy yourself in Nigeria. Your reason for going shows immigration intent. There are over 200 million people in USA. Why does she need someone from Nigeria to babysit her child? Can you answer this question?
NB: Invitation letter is as irrelevant as the P in Psychology. VO’s rarely ask for it.

US population is over 320 million not 200 million. And you need work permit to baby sit a baby not business/tourism visa.

Its been a while since someone posted positive news on the thread so let me break the ice.
Mum had her appointment today and it went smoothly.
She was asked a few questions about where she is traveling to and where she retired from, none of the documents she had with her was checked.
First time traveler to US but has traveled to other countries and am a permanent resident.
Visa approved!
A big congratulations on mom's visa approval. Please was this in Lagos or Abuja? Which countries had she gone to be now? Congratulations once again.

I want to believe this will help 'reset' appointment dates for B1/B2 and stop that 2024 nonsense

It won’t. Students have been scheduling interviews before now.

Students have always had priority and the option for emergency appointments depending on how how close the start date of their program is anyway. It still doesn't change much.

If this had always happened, then the embassy won't be making it happen again.
If I understand how scheduling works, if a system is backed up, it may help if its batched and processed through seperate silos to unclog it. Envisage moving student visa out of same room with visit visa.
Appointments for 2024 doesn't make the embassy look good, or help their operations and I am sure they will be trying to fix it.

Please I’d appreciate response on this. I filled a DS 160 for my daughter and I and got an appointment for both of us but I tried completely the DS 160 as I hadn’t submitted it yet and can’t find mine only my daughters own comes up. Can I fill a new one for myself? If yes what about the DS 160 no’s on my appointment booking?

You provide the class of visa you’re applying for while scheduling your appointment and that’s where the difference lies. If you try to apply for appointments with F1 you’d get dates. If you do with B1/B2 you’d probably get 2022 or no dates.

Yes you can fill another DS160 form and log into the cgi site, update your form number before printing out the confirmation slips

Please who has recently travelled with a B1/B2 and what’s your POE experience

My wife and I landed at JFK on 23rd May, 2021

Me: Hi, how’ are you doing?
CBP: I’m doing good, where are you coming from?
Me: Lagos Nigeria
CBP: purpose of visit
Me: Vacation
CBP: How long are you staying for?
Me: 4 weeks and few days and I also explained why I have decided to stay for more than 4 weeks. I stated that it was my first time in the US though, I have been to most of European countries- UK inclusive and South Africa on personal and official reasons. I told the POE officer that I really want to enjoy it this first time. We both laughed.

CBP: Where will you be staying?
Me: Hotel, I mentioned the hotel's name in Manhattan and handed over the booking slip to him. He didn't actually check anything.

He asked me to remove my face mask and captured me. Then my wife's biometrics was just captured, no further questions were asked.

How easy would it be from London here?
