Take race, for instance. The 3 major religions in Nigeria mirror the racial divide (blacks, whites, indigenous), in America to a t, as well as the religious divide. The various tribes (historically British, Irish, Italian, German etc) in America mirror the various tribes in Nigeria. Even the selfishness of individualism is similar to that of Nigeria.

Its like studying America informs one of the problems of Nigeria, but that applies to studying just about anywhere to be honest.
