How Much Do You Love Nigeria? by Akwamkpuruamu: 7:57pm On May 08, 2021
While growing up in the early 90's, I could feel the excitement of being a Nigerian. I remember my dad dashing me Nigerian flag which I so much adored. I had a good sense of patriotism and love for the country. Along the line, as a young adult, I started reading books on history especially Nigerian history. Each book read, I compared with the realities of what I see. I began to find out that what I heard as a perception of being a Nigerian was different from what I am seeing in Nigeria, the country I called mine.

Well to cut the story short, I no longer believe in Nigeria. I don't agree that patriotism should be coerced, rather it should be straight from the heart and with passion. This passion I have lost. In all sincerity, Nigeria have lost it. And there's really no hope is sight.

I support splitting and disintegration of this union. A nation that is causing and taking more bloodshed of its citizens to uphold isn't a nation one should be proud of.

If actually you love Nigeria, I would like to know why you love Nigeria. Maybe, I can be convinced to give Nigeria a second chance of patriotism.

I wish we can keep this thread free from name callings, ethnic bashing and mudslinging. We are Humans first before being a Nigerian.

I would have loved Nigeria if there was sincerity in it.

The fact that Igboland was punished for growing wings to fly away after the civil war made me hate Nigeria the most.

How they tried to cut the wings:
They made sure they cut different parts of igboland to join to other regions (north central and south south) so they will tell u that igboland is small, igboland is landlocked, bla bla.
While other regions are having 7 or 6 states, southeast was given only 5 states just to ensure they have less number of representatives. Why add igbos to Benue, delta, rivers when u knew igboland is small?

I hate cheating!

Yes I agree with your love for Nigeria. Its a good choice you made. So what exactly are your reasons for loving Nigeria? Why would you see the need to convince a neutral person to love a united Nigeria, rather than a fragmented Nigeria?

I could remember when I was in school how I vehemently defended Nigeria.

That was a EXTREMELY stupid mistake that I needed to ask God for forgiveness for.

Let us ask those poithiefians first.

Ask those in IDP camp

Ask these undergraduates in muddy water

Then ask the medical tourist in fortified Rock at abuja

After their answer, then, Niralanders can respond.

For now, you already know my response.

They can never tell you the reason. Did thebosstrevor1 give you his reason for loving Nigeria? They won't say but this is the reason:
The fulanis can not survive if Nigeria breaks up.

You lack in depth knowledge on history or you have been misinformed by your parents.

Tell us what led to the civil war and how you igbos killed the ijaws and other minority tribes

See him. He knows that igbos are cheated and does not want to say anything about it. Instead, he is asking question to justify those cheats
