French-born central midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu made his starting debut for Rennes in a Ligue 1 clash against Paris Saint-Germain at Roazhon Park on Sunday night.

Aged 17, Ugochukwu is the nephew of former Nigeria international central defender Onyekachi Apam, who wore the colors of Rennes for four seasons, 2010-2014.

Rennes manager Bruno Génésio was forced to hand a full debut to the Franco-Nigerian teenager due to the unavailability of midfielders Eduardo Camavinga, Steven Nzonzi and Jonas Martin.

Ugochukwu was included in Rennes' matchday squads on six different occasions this season, going on to make his professional debut when he entered the game as a late substitute against Dijon FCO on April 25, prior to tonight's clash versus PSG.

Brazil superstar Neymar celebrated his contract renewal until 2025 with a goal from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time.

In the 70th minute, eight minutes after Ugochukwu was substituted, Sehrou Guirassy headed home from a corner to put Rennes back on level terms.

Lesley's younger brother, Chibuike Ugochukwu plays for Rennes U13 team.

There are strong indication that the super eagles of Nigeria would feature in a four nation tournament in Austria next month according to report . The source reveal that plans are in top gear to have Senegal, Cameroon and yet to be name team for the Four nation tournament schedule to be held in Austria. I wish the third nation was Ghana a great opportunity to test out new players for the super eagles next month

Funny how some people on this thread under-rate Ghana. I have watched Nigeria-Ghana rivalry over the years, close to 40 years precisely. Only a yesterday's child will talk cheaply about Ghana even if they assembled a first eleven of local players. Please, let's give respect to whom it is due.

Interesting Fact: Victor Osimhen's double digits milestone in Serie A

Osimhen vs Two of Napoli's great strikers in recent times in the 21st Century.

Compared to Gonzalo Higuain's first season at Napoli and Edinson Cavani's first season at Napoli, Osimhen is actually "the fastest" to hit the 10 goals mark for Napoli in Serie A

This is very interesting stat especially when you consider that Cavani didn't have any injury episodes in his first season leading up to the 10 goals mark in Serie A and Higuain only suffered a very brief injury episode that saw him miss just one Serie A game. They both had it smooth "healthwise" leading up to their first 10 Napoli goals yet Osimhen got to that mark FASTER despite a turbulent season marked especially by a long term (2 months) shoulder injury, Covid infection and Head Trauma/Injury.

The Numbers:

▶️Higuain (2013/2014) - Took 19 games (17 starts) - First 10 Napoli Serie A goals in 1,458 mins.

▶️Cavani (2010/2011) - Took 17 games (14 starts) - First 10 Napoli Serie A goals in 1,336 mins.

▶️Osimhen (2020/2021) - Took 21 games (13 starts) - First 10 Napoli Serie A goals in 1,289 mins (+ remaining 38mins in last game it becomes 1,329mins).

**The Stats Graphic below was created by an italian-based Neapolitan fan at the time Osimhen bagged his tenth of the season even before Halftime. That explains why it shows 1289.

Big NOTE: This is just an interesting piece of statistical data that further supports the fact that Osimhen is indeed delivering the goods despite a rough start to life at Naples. This post does not in any way or form suggest that he is better than Higuain or Cavani. Those two are legends while Osimhen is still a young lad rising fast in the game. So it's not about who is better. Be guided.
(Had to add this for those who will somehow take things out of context. There are always those few fellas. Lol).

Nice one Doc!

For the bold grin you kukuma know them

Apart from Victor beginning to hit good form I think his teammates are also beginning to understand how he plays. They have started hitting onetime passes behind the oppositions defense which Osimhen has wasted no time in dispatching. They trust him more now. As far as this season is concerned taking into consideration his injury and covid-19 woes I will give Victor a passmark. 10 goals so far in your debut season non of which are penalties no be moi moi. Next season should hopefully really see him announce himself big time in the league and world football

Banter aside Ghana are formidable opponents especially for us. At least with the likes of Senegal, Algeria, Cameroon and Ivory Coast if we have better players we can be almost sure of beating them unlike the black stars who no matter the level of their players will play like they want to die on the pitch.

Allegri's inactivity is probably to blame. Ole to be fair though i'm not a fan has tried. Agree about Koeman whose only tactic has been pass to Messi and inshallah.

Of course, everyone knows that!

The upper hand in football rivalry mostly occurs in cycles. In any one generation one team may have the upper hand.

Since I started watching football (circa late 1980's) my summary of our rivalry goes like this, after losing to Ghana 0-1 in Kumasi, in the 1992 AFCON qualifiers, in fact that was the game in which Alloy Agu lost a tooth and then losing to them again 2-1 in the 1992 AFCON Semifinal, Ghana did not beat Nigeria again until 2008!!

That Ghanian generation of the early 90's with Abedi Pele, Tony Yeboah, Prince Polly Opoku etc were slightly stronger than our generation of super eagles at the time and it showed how they edged games against us even when we played better on the day.

In the generations following that from the mid 90's to the late 2000's, we undoubtedly had the upper hand. Apart from 2 goalless draws, one in Lagos (1994 Friendly) and one in Accra (2002 World cup qual) we beat them every single time! They dreaded being drawn against us, this is fact. We Kicked them out of AFCONs and World Cup qualifiers.....until 2008 and then they regained the upper hand. I think the fact that they qualified for their first world cup in 2006 and we didn't already indicated they were now stronger than us again.

Now it is back to our turn. You can disagree, no problem but the cycle continues...lets play them!

Ghana and Nigeria are rivals. Why shouldn't we be obsessed with beating them black and blue I am sure Ghanaians would love for their team to do likewise no matter if they say it or not.

The trash talk fuels the match up and makes things more interesting. My only problem is when people try to take it out of the football context and make it a political issue.

Former Golden Eaglets star Akinkunmi Amoo scored his second goal in the Swedish league to get Hammarby past Sirius 3-2.

Eighteen-year-old forward Amoo was on target in the 51st minute.

He has started his team’s first five matches in the new season.

His flying start has already sparked interest across Europe with several top clubs reportedly keen to sign him.

Hammarby climbed to seventh on the table with seven points from five matches.
