There are strong indication that the super eagles of Nigeria would feature in a four nation tournament in Austria next month according to report . The source reveal that plans are in top gear to have Senegal, Cameroon and yet to be name team for the Four nation tournament schedule to be held in Austria. I wish the third nation was Ghana a great opportunity to test out new players for the super eagles next month
The yet to be named team is Germany according to owngoal..

Just saw the draw..
CAF have definitely gone crazy..
How is it West Africa's fault that the rest of the continent (especially southern Africa) suck so bad at football that they have to introduce zoning just to give them the chance to qualify for tournaments??

This method of qualifications is very bad. it's not merit based and encourages mediocrity. Zoning won't improve competition, it will only encourage mediocrity.

Imagine the Men's National teams qualifiers being done via zoning, countries like SA won't have problem qualifying because of their weak zone, meanwhile they are shit and could not qualify based on the current merit based system of random draws.

Now west African countries with better teams won't qualify.

Zoning from CAF might not be a bad idea if they actually took into consideration the strength of different zones by allocating more slot to the stronger zones(West and North Africa) and giving lesser slots to the weak zones, this way , the weak zones compete fearlessly for the slots, while at the same time the representative from those zones will put in a better fight in the competition because they got there via a rigorous hard work in the qualifiers.

The CAF zoning system became flawed immediately they started giving every zone equal slots . I might still accept it for underaged competition, but doing it for the women's senior teams is very wrong. When the likes of Cotedivoire, Ghana , Eauitorial Guinea or Nigeria who are one of the strongests in the continent don't make the tourney because they've knocked themselves out during the WAFU zone qualifiers, then you'll be left with shitty teams.

This will not improve the women's game, infact it will further draw it back

FIFA that allocates competition slots based on the strength each Confederations instead of giving every continents equal slots knows what they are doing and are not stupid.

We in Africa just know how to copy good innovations from the white men in the wrong way with wrong implementation. Na curse ?

Gbam!!!
You have said it all.. I'm surprised that Pinnick and his colleagues from WAFU allowed this nonsense to go on for so long until it extended to the women senior team.

Imagine, out of the 24 teams heading to the AFCON,only 2 from COSAFA zone qualified...12 from WAFU!

Pinnick is stupid. That one is not interested in football development in the country, he's busy looking after himself, contesting for every CAF and FIFA executive positions he can lay his hand on.

Imagine they implement that useless zoning for Afcon qualifiers, better west African teams will start loosing out.

And na that Ahmad Ahmad start that nonsense because he wants to help his East African friends qualify for CAF tournaments through backdoor

Maybe when Africa start losing slots in FIFA tournament due to this nonsense, they will wake up..
West Africa is largely the reason why African teams have that much slot in FIFA tournament.. From age grade to women tournament to the world cup itself.. East and Southern Africa aren't doing jackshit, not even at club level..But their representatives in CAF wanna open the backdoor to them... Smh

Kelechi Nwakali is talented but it is hard to see why is still struggling to stam his feet today. I will advise him to change his management.

He is improving now. He is doing well with Alcorcon. He is in fact their best player. He should perform well next season and from there the sky is the limit. A lot of teams will want him in the summer as he is recognized as one of the best midfielders in segunda league

What rubbish is this CAF turning into? Now that it has extended to women senior team, soon it would be world cup qualifiers in zones. Imagine a world cup qualifier in zones! South Africa representing Africa at cup. That's how many good west African and north African teams would be missing tournaments.

We are not the only federation with plenty countries na. Europe and Asia has many countries and they don't do this rubbish.

Former Golden Eaglets star Akinkunmi Amoo scored his second goal in the Swedish league to get Hammarby past Sirius 3-2.

Eighteen-year-old forward Amoo was on target in the 51st minute.

He has started his team’s first five matches in the new season.

His flying start has already sparked interest across Europe with several top clubs reportedly keen to sign him.

Hammarby climbed to seventh on the table with seven points from five matches.
