Many of these people left their state for Lagos without any plan so they ended up under bridge, why don't u blame their state govt, how do u expect Lagos for everyone that left their state for lag, 99% of these people don't even pay task, the last time Lagos state ask House of assembly for special status, South East and North voted against it but u want Lagos to kill herself.
How sure are you some are not from Lagos? Even if they're not, is it not the same country? The way the government has reused to take care of the almajiri in the North is the same apathy that has visited the poor in the South. Why would a government abdicate the responsibility of alleviating the suffering of the poor in the midst of so much wasted wealth? The question is, why is it that government that would dole out millions for show as seen with the one-legged hawker, not extend the same to millions living below poverty line except that there is no one to praise them? The poor deserve the basics of life like the rest of us whether from Lagos or Kafanchan. That's what responsible governments all over the world are known to do.

True. In addition creating basic amenities in rural areas will further discourage rural-urban migration.

these people are disobeying the law by illegally occupying that place and they should all be arrested and sentenced to prison but the govt has given them quit notice ( which is wrong ) and that's the least the govt should do for them.

would you the government should provide strangers with low income wives if strangers come into your house and rape your sisters , mother and any woman in household OR would you prefer that the govt arrests, prosecutes and sentences them to prisonhuh
Laws are meant for the welfare of man, not the other way around. By the way, inferring that they're all criminals because they're poor and homeless is cheeky.

Even if they are from Lagos, that isn't a normal way to live, in fact what they are doing is against the law

The central government has finally done it again with no provision for this people.

I remembered when I was coming back from work in 2018, I took that route to my place, only for some guys to rough handle me, and they also collected my phone.

Make dem pursue all of them self, but I trust them, after a week, dem go come back. Sure die, except say tankers go dey pack there so there won't be space for those guys.

So what do you want Lagos govt to do if their state govt/fed govt refused to help them
What has Lagos state government done for their own Lagosians living under the bridge? They should do the same for all, not because they're from Lagos, but because it is a way to minimize nuisance such as this in the society. Living under the bridge is a hazard of its own, just that the lives of Africans have little value. Yet we expect other races not to be "racist" against us.

Soon someone will ask if they are provided alternative.

Why will government provide alternative for illegality. If you do not have somewhere legal to stay or do business, go back to your village.
I love this thought...
Lagos really needs this most.

The state is congested, olohun.

not everything the government does is evil, people too have to take charge of their lives. And no its not a function of being black. California is plagued by the homeless and it is not even close to being governed by blacks. Yea shit happens but this must be done. It might also work in their interest and wake them from that stupor. That scene in the picture is not a way to live
Wealth is really not a function of smartness. At least in California, the government is aware of that problem unlike what you have in Nigeria where every kleptomaniac politician is after what they get while the poor are ignored.

Do you know the amount of robbery attacks on motorists that ply that route?

The roads through that area has been completely degraded. These guys burn all manner of rubbish there

During endsars rampage these guys moved to the highway blocked it of destroying vehicles and robbing commuters
That they're a nuisance is enough reason to find a permanent solution to their problem. Kicking them off to another part of the city is recycling the problem, not solving it.

Really? What if they're homeless? What alternative has the government provided for them? What if they've been displaced by herdsmen? Every sane country makes provision for the unemployed, the poor and homeless. With the billions stolen by the political class, what have they done for the indigent?
[/s]If you're homeless go back to your village.

No 1, that is not Lagos State government's business or responsibility.

No 2, that is not a justifiable excuse to come and ghettorise Lagos.
Really? Taking care of the less privileged is not government responsibility? I bet, they all wouldn't mind their votes if it's election time.
Even Istanbul still has migrants come in every day. What matters in governance is the ability to envisage challenges and plan towards them, not run from them.

I think you need to buy some data, sit yourself down and spend some few hours educating yourself on the Federal system and its application in Nigeria.

laws are meant to control men and are not "for the welfare of man"...

they are not poor, they have two hands, two legs, a brain e.t.c.. and they can get jobs ( as cleaners, security e.t.c ) to fend for themselves and pay rents...

they are criminals because they are disobeying the law by illegally occupying that place...

someone does not have to hold knife, guns, deadly weapons e.t.c. before they can be termed criminals...

since you can afford to buy data for your phone and have noticed a problem... you should also lead by example and help this homeless people by paying their house rents and clothing for them.

why can't you pay their rent for themhuh

Meaning?...this are people that can live comfortably in thier respective villages, so why should they become our problem.

Go back to to your state if you can't afford a decent house here and become liability to your state. After all Lagos State is not getting what she deserves from the federal government.

God's grace is sufficient for us.
