these people are disobeying the law by illegally occupying that place and they should all be arrested and sentenced to prison but the govt has given them quit notice ( which is wrong ) and that's the least the govt should do for them.

would you say the government should provide strangers with low income wives if strangers come into your house and rape your sisters , mother and any woman in household OR would you prefer that the govt arrests, prosecutes and sentences them to prisonhuh
You definitely have no sense or logical brain with this compilation.

What is this junk?

Lagos is The Newyork city of US and the London of great Britain, Lagos has every thing to be the most modern city in the world! Aside London, Newyork, Berlin, Warsaw, Tokyo, Beijing, Dublin and others

That they're a nuisance is enough reason to find a permanent solution to their problem. Kicking them off to another part of the city is recycling the problem, not solving it.
They should live within the legality of the law of the state and govt have every right to kick them off.

If they cant they shld go back to where ever they came from

How sure are you some are not from Lagos? Even if they're not, is it not the same country? The way the government has reused to take care of the almajiri in the North is the same apathy that has visited the poor in the South. Why would a government abdicate the responsibility of alleviating the suffering of the poor in the midst of so much wasted wealth? The question is, why is it that government that would dole out millions for show as seen with the one-legged hawker, not extend the same to millions living below poverty line except that there is no one to praise them? The poor deserve the basics of life like the rest of us whether from Lagos or Kafanchan. That's what responsible governments all over the world are known to do.
You can as well ask foolish questions such as "Why will the Western government be spending billions on space programmes and Western people spending billions on pets and then abdicate the responsibility of alleviating the suffering of the poor in the midst of so much wasted wealth?".

But what is keeping people in Lagos at all costs despite all these sufferings, God save me I will die of body hitches if I stay in the kind environment for just 24 hours. People should relocate to other places outside Lagos where they will be more useful to themselves and society. This is not hustling, this is just poor choice of living. Most of them may have good houses in their various states and villages o. Is it not the same Lagos I was so quick to leave staying there for just few months, even Island. I just prefer a peaceful and quiet environment.

What has Lagos state government done for their own Lagosians living under the bridge? They should do the same for all, not because they're from Lagos, but because it is a way to minimize nuisance such as this in the society. Living under the bridge is a hazard of its own, just that the lives of Africans have little value. Yet we expect other races not to be "racist" against us.
If you are over 18 years old now and you posted this, trust me, your IQ is very very very low.

laws are meant to control men and are not "for the welfare of man"...

they are not poor, they have two hands, two legs, a brain e.t.c.. and they can get jobs ( as cleaners, security e.t.c ) to fend for themselves and pay rents...

they are criminals because they are disobeying the law by illegally occupying that place...

someone does not have to hold knife, guns, deadly weapons e.t.c. before they can be termed criminals...
Get it in your brain that not all offences are "crimes".

Easierr said than done. They will simply move to other sections of the city since you don't have any City gate to lock them off. Intelligent reasoning should suggest that the best thing to do is to find low income hostels for them with an expiry period to find a legitimate work and move out..
Hahahahah na so e easy.

Even Texas had homeless people, they don't go and create a mess like these people are doing.

Government cannot solve all problems. If you can't find your feet in Lagos, go back to your village.

By the way your ideas are myopic and unintelligent.

the best thing to do is to find low income hostels for them with an expiry period to find a legitimate work and move out.. hahahahah
Govt: Oga by now you should have found something doing, oya leave the free house for others who just arrived from Enugu grin grin grin grin grin
Them: Government is insensitive, why chase us out of the house they built for the masses.

Grow up dude

Keep quoting the law. Yet the law is meant for the people and not the other way round.. When crimes escalate, you would notice you have created a new problem while solving an old one..
Every serious country has serious provisions for people like that who are ready to work but can't take care of their housing needs with their meager incomes.. low housing units, in some places it's like hostels. Just temporary abode for such people..

What is keeping people in Lagos?

1. Dreams of making it
2. Large handouts from panhandling
3. Opportunities for small daily jobs
4. Shame of going back home with nothing to show
5. More valuable outcomes from robbery and other crimes

Really? What if they're homeless? What alternative has the government provided for them? What if they've been displaced by herdsmen? Every sane country makes provision for the unemployed, the poor and homeless. With the billions stolen by the political class, what have they done for the indigent?
Guy shut up, you are not making sense with your what if. Does that place look like an IDP camp?

some countries have shelters for their homeless citizens, important words here is citizens... many homeless people in Lagos are not from Lagos and are not even yorubas and its not the job of the Lagos state govt and the yorubas to provide for non-yorubas.

I thought we were having a decent discuss. The last two tht quoted me proved they're fighting a tribal battle. I had enough of that for today. How you guys managed to know that the people there are from Enugu beats me... You will be shocked to know that most of those there might be Yoruba..

Typical Nigerian graduate!

1. Makes a fooolish statement out of pure and avoidable ignorance.
2. Gets corrected.
3. Instead of accepting the correction, gets defiant and dogmatic.
4. Makes the same (or other fooolish) statement, without doing basic research, to show "I no go accept".

Complete foolishness exemplified!

I did not say anything about enugu.

Humans naturally don't support people that are not the same ethnicity as them.

Everything in Nigeria will always be about ethnicity because we are different.

Euro:peans created such difference to protect themselves in their colonies.

There's no difference between an offence and a crime.

Unlike you I don't need to show you something written by an e:uropean just to prove my point.

Okay, let's assume they're from Plateau, Benue or Ogun where herdsmen drove them away from their ancestral homeland. What has the government for them? With Billions stolen every month by the political class, what have they done for the poor, the homeless and even the unemployed?
You can start a campaign to have them relocate to your state.
